Buyer Beware... If you like dealing with used car salespeople who will rip you off, this is the place for you.
We should have known better than to make our purchase with Hope's when the sales lady (one of the daughters) told us there was no weight capacity on the chairs we were looking at, but when we looked it up online it plainly told us the weight capacity. We were moving however and had saved for a year ($15K) to buy new furniture (our first new furniture EVER), and we were overcome with excitement. Fast forward 10 months later and our headboard breaks while laying in bed watching TV. That was the beginning of my frustration. After calling Hope's, I had suspicions the conversation wouldn't go well when the person taking the message asked for my name and number and just hung up on me. I left a message and Hope called me back later. After answering, I introduce myself and start explaining what happened and about mid-way through, Hope cuts me off telling me about some screws coming out and there's nothing she can do. I explain that I'm not talking about any screws and begin to explain again that the studs INSIDE the headboard legs pulled out because they were only buried about 1/4" inside the legs and it ripped off the entire front face of headboard. The legs are roughly 4" deep and it seems as though the supports studs would have been buried deeper. This took several attempts to explain because Hope kept cutting me off and giving me every excuse why she can't do anything. Excuses ranged from: "All of this stuff comes in from China and it's not like it used to be" - never mind it's what she orders, and she can order better quality products for the price she's asking. "There's no warranty on our bedroom furniture" - I would never have known we could buy "really nice furniture" as it was explained at the time of purchase, and yet it have no warranty what-so-ever and have no support after it breaks within only 10 months.
The fact that we saved up for a year and spent our entire budget for new furniture at her store was disheartening, but the fact that she cut me off 4 times on the phone and kept over talking me to just keep repeating "there's nothing I can do" showed a complete lack of support after the sale. Take your money to a more reputable place like Hardees in Rocky Mount. Apparently, she's selling "whatever comes in from China". Keep in mind, we were splitting the first 3 months after purchase traveling between new and old houses, and don't have small children. These furniture has been gently used in the time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe and my husband came to hopes because of my aunts referral. I couldn't have been more happy with our experience, we went in were immediately greeted and asked what can they help us find. I told them exactly what I was looking, I was pointed in the right direction. Loads to choose from for styles and fabrics. The store is overall very clean, bathrooms super clean. I am very happy with our purchase, I had been to 7 other furniture stores looking for my chair for my babies nursery and I am very picky. I was able to get my chair ordered the same day I picked it out. Was told how long it will be and if it comes in before my nursery's floor is done that they would hold it for me until ready to pick up. I was sent a receipt back to my email immediately for my records. I highly recommend them, they took their time with me and my husband, told me everything I needed to know. Cleaning care, warranty...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePurchased a sectional sofa from them a few months ago and paid an outrageous price expecting the price to match the value of the product. Cushions are already becoming flattened and losing form and I have to flip often. I paid way less for furniture (sofa) 10 years ago that is still in better shape than this that I placed in another room when I purchased this one. Certainly not satisfied and disappointed in the poor product. Lesson learned that just because a furniture store presents as high end does not mean you get high...
