TK Orchards — Local services in Wilsonville

TK Orchards is a great family business! I love supporting local businesses - especially ones like TK Orchards that provide fresh, healthy foods for our community. Three children had the whole operation under control - checking off orders and carrying large paper bags filled with nuts. I learned from mom (who was there supervising) that the children bagged and weighed the nuts themselves, too. Very impressive! I ordered 10 lbs. of cracked hazelnuts for just $3/lb. - a great price for a fresh, delicious treat!! While it took me more than an hour to separate the nuts from the shells, it was easy to do while I watched TV. I highly recommend TJ Orchards, and I will return next year for more hazelnuts. And now I know they have peaches...

Stopped in and bought 2 boxes of their delicious looking peaches from their stand at the orchards. Upon arriving home, I began peeling them for canning. Peach after peach after peach was brown and rotten from the inside out. I paid full price for rotten windfall peaches. I had to throw away over half (close to 2/3) of what I bought. Not as good this year as last our U-pick experience year. Lots of super green larger varieties, and small, more ripe varieties. Tons of fruit on the ground, lots were rotting on the branch, and a lot of trees with broken branches. Made us a little sad. Not sure how they will come out once ripened, but I'm hopeful. We bought a flat for $20....
