This is a rare find today. It’s really a living museum of the good ‘ol fashioned drive-in experience goi g back to the 40’s or 50’s. They even still have those crazy cartoons promoting the SNACK BAR with dancing popcorn and candy that countdown from 5 minutes to showtime. They actually have some quality food at the snack bar and really friendly staff. This place employees 17 to 25 local people! It’s pet friendly and they always show the movie even if it rains! Only lightning storms can stop the show. They broadcast the sound through your car radio or loan out transistor radios for the full AM sound experience. I just watched the original 1975 release “Jaws” followed by a new release of Fast and Furious 9. Cheeseburgers were EXCELLENT, so was the buttered popcorn and coffee. Never a disappointment at The Northfield Drive-In.

I saw Oppenheimer here. The sound came over fm channel and was good. The first audio we heard was scratchy and hissy and we were concerned, but it turned out they played the same welcome message they played 75 years ago, once we figured that out it was charming. The sound of the movie was crisp and with the good speakers the car even shook during explosions. Concessions were okay pre-packed ice cream sandwiches, popcorn, drinks. The screen is patchwork quilt of squares, but when the movie was on that was not a problem. The theater has auto flushing bathrooms which were clean. Surprisingly, the men's room had a line but the lady's room did not (after the movie).

Great place for the family or a date night. The food is fantastic and the prices are very affordable with lots of yummy choices. They offer free radios so you can enjoy the movie outside your car. They do have a restroom. This place is CASH ONLY. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There's also plenty of parking. The price per person for 2 movies beats your typical movie theater anyway. I came here when I was young and now I get to enjoy it with my son.

Bring bug repellent, (they might still sell at concession, the little mosquito coils) but I didn't get anything last year, I just enjoyed time with my kid, watching movies we own, it was their first time at the Drive in. We'll be back If You open up again! A friend we brought hadn't seen Spaceballs so it was PERFECT for us to watch a Classic and enjoy the reactions of person that had yet to see it (I LOVE Mel Brooks) I was younger than these kids when I saw the movie and I KNEW that it was my job, No, My DUTY, to introduce generations to come to comedy jokes and where the ORIGINAL jokes came from - Let's NOT forget that the Young Frankenstein movie was the start of "Walk this way" which carried through Men and Tights and beyond, probably the first movie I EVER saw the joke with the Candygram was Blazing Saddles. The art of making a movie, and making fun of the movie was mastered in High Anxiety, but Spaceballs never disappointed with ANY of its jokes. Keep putting the classic on the big screen, owned or not, if we can make it to You, we will watch and Laugh with You. Thanks for the YEARS of memories that piece...

Retro charm with modern appeals. For best results, probably get there early and bring furniture and stuff to really enjoy the space while you wait for the film to start. The speakers they have near the middle are very high quality, so if you can get a good spot near there, you get movie theatre audio. The car audio is lacking since it's an FM broadcast. Also, i was pretty surprised that they had the projector dialed in so tight. I would go so far as to say they had a clearer picture than many movie theaters I've been to.

Really excellent time. I think we're going to bring the kids again but this time get some blankets and an air mattress to really get the most out of this awesome place. The people who looked the most comfy were those with pickup trucks and pillows and blanketd for the kids.

One last thing, if you have one of those cars were you can't turn the daytime running lights off and keep the car running, bring something to cover your headlights. I had to do this, but it was worth it to not accidentally be ruining...
