The owner and son need to reevaluate their customer service response. I purchased a small order here and upon leaving i didn't noticed the blueberry pie I bought was not put into the bag as my other items. I thought it was all in one brown shopping bag. When I unpacked the bag at home no pie. I called the next day spoke to the son. My choice was come back for that pie or come back to put $5.99 back to the debit card. I live toward Hebron so a longer trip for $5.99. I told the son since I didn't see the pie sitting there next to the bag as I left why didn't that person who checked me out call me back or get me on the outside of the building to give me my purchase already paid for. Upon reviewing their footage of all customers in that store it was determined that it was my responsibility to look in the bag or check the counter leaving no responsibility to their employees who checked you out. I was very upset with that ideology. If someone had left something I think the employee who helped that customer would follow thru on there job if an omission was made. I spoke to Bob, his father the owner that didnt go well also. They claim no responsibility at all. I have a major problem with that. Keep your $5.99 blueberry pie. I have been to this store when it was just a dinky country store now its grown to a impressive all inclusive food store. I hold the father and his son especially who has a misogynistic response toward a senior citizen accountable for their lack of what customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my go-to spot for meat and specialty produce. It's the only place in town I've been able to find the illusive Denver Steak, an underrated cut that is so incredibly tasty. Their avocados are always stellar, and they have a really cool selection of Spanish produce. It's also very beautifully displayed, which is really inspiring to someone who loves to cook on a whim with new intriguing ingredients. I have to mention their grinders too. They are seriously on the money. I used to work in an upscale grinder shop in Boston long ago, and that set the bar for what I considered a great grinder. These guys and gals at IGA are the real deal though. You might not consider grinder making a skill, but its one of those things where all the parts need to come together in the right way to make it work, and you'll get that every time here without fail. There were two times I had plastic in my sandwich, which sometimes happens when you're in a lunch rush and not paying attention at the slicer, so you accidentally cut some of the packaging that holds the meat. Im telling you though...the grinders are so good, I tossed the little piece of plastic aside and kept eating. Other than that, the staff here is very friendly. They remember you and call you by name, which makes it almost like visiting family every time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI Have been purchasing all my Beef, chicken, pork and processed meats for over 5 years. Always told everyone to come to this place for meats etc. Generally 2 to 3 times a year... We vac seal our purchase and never had a issue... Today for the first time my GF did a meat package.. never been so disappointed.. The Roast was not the size or type i would choose.. I struggled to cut it, same butcher knife i always use. This was extremely tuff. So much that i labeled it stew meat or Dog food.. As i fear it's going to be extremely tuff. The chicken was fine, chicken is chicken. The pork chops were 1/2 thick down to about a 1/4.Any thinner and i could see through it. The country spare ribs were about 3/4" wide... Looked like scraps. The hamburg looked fine. The steak looked ok.. But not my choice of beef. Generally i buy top sirloin and cut it myself. The steak looks like it will be tuff. 2 lbs of bacon.. Top package looked ok.. kind of fatty , the other 1 lb looked like all fat. This was a 200.00 package. Normally i spend 700.00 to 800.00 and it carries us for months. I will never order a meat package and let someone else pick it.. I was extremely disappointed and generally my attitude is... we will get by.. This just had way too many negatives to make me even think positive... Lesson...
