I worked with Kathy, and she was amazing! We met with her 3 times, our first appt where she came to our home, and 2 additional times for finalization of our project (as the first sit down was rushed due to a personal time constraint I had). During our last appointment we placed our 50% down and finalized everything- we were so happy! Two weeks later we get an email from Kathy that she misquoted us by over $4,000!!, and their contract states that they are not responsible for any misquotes or errors while calculating the project....I would understand a few hundred dollars, but over $4k? They gave us the option to either pay the wholesale price- which was still over $2k more, or cancel our project all together and receive a refund. I felt so trapped. We had already made other commitments with contractors, getting our appliances and fixtures, and we were committed to a specific time frame with the rest of our renovations. Now we had to either come up with over $2k for something we already signed and budgeted, or find someone who could do similar work within the same amount of time and $? Frustrated was one way to put how I felt... I spoke with Beverly, the owner, and she said that she "would not take a loss on our project" and was unwilling to help in any other way than offer financing. We ended up canceling our project and actually found another company, THANK GOODNESS, that could provide what we needed within our given time frame. Unless youâre buying multiple pieces, expect to be reminded that they are busy working on a âfull house resetâ and your designer will get back to you. Same for delivery, dates come and go with no proactive contact. Then, when delivery was ready, I was told they had a small home to reset in Lansing and would do their best (do prioritize the other customer, but why mention to me?). It became a joke with me and my husband.
