I have lived next to the land Denny Peters farms for the last 22 years. Over the last 4 years specifically I have witnessed extremely poor farming practices. Crops are rarely harvested at all, if so only for the half. Fields lay bare for most of the season but eventually fill with invasive weeds. Corn stands until December, straw is cut and raked but never baled, perennials in the field are always left to be overgrown. There seems to be an attempt to start crops properly but as harvest time arrives the crop is abandoned whether due to negligence or an ulterior motive is unknown to me. With this knowledge it is my assumption most produce sold at Peters Produce is outsourced. It’s merely speculation that I would wish to be proven wrong it’s a shame to see good land...
