We stayed at Rove Linden Place I for the month of July and absolutely loved it. We were staying there while our son was doing an intensive two-week vocal/dance training program near Times Square; we had always talked about wanting to experience living in NYC for a short time just to see what it really felt like to be a New Yorker and figured this was the perfect opportunity.
The location is fantastic, within very short walking distance of two major subway stations, making getting anywhere in Manhattan very easy. Getting to Queens or Brooklyn was also quick and easy although we stayed almost entirely in Manhattan during our stay. There is also a Morton Williams conveniently located right around the corner, making grocery shopping easy. We had our two dogs with us as well, so it was wonderful to be able to take them for long walks in Central Park, only 3 blocks away.
The apartment was very spacious by Manhattan standards: a large comfortable living room/dining room, full kitchen with quality appliances and 3 bedrooms/bathrooms. The place was nicely furnished and very clean, and there were plenty of supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap/shampoo, as well as plenty of extra linens and towels. We also made extensive use of the kitchen’s drip coffee maker and Nespresso machine. We only had one minor problem with not being able to run the dishwasher at first, but the Rove staff were very responsive and I was ultimately able to fix the issue myself easily.
The price was of course not cheap, as you’d expect in Midtown East Side, but still, given the location and amenities, it was certainly reasonable.
All in all, we would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a short term stay in Manhattan, and would definitely consider returning if we were looking for more than a...
Read moreWe rented the upstairs portion of this townhouse (upper half), for June 2025. It was an exceptional space and our family enjoyed the stay very much. The hosts were also very helpful and available, going over and above what one might expect hosts to do.
The space comprised of very large living dining and kitchen space, with high ceilings (10+ ft) that was well furnished. In fact on a couple of occasions our kids fell asleep on the couch in the living room and did just fine. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, spices, coffee (and coffee makers). We were a stone's throw away from 9th avenue, which is known to be quite busy on weekends and week-nights, however the interior apartment space was very quiet. Also the location of the house is on a street that itself stays quiet as it consisted of mostly brownstone housing and no large apartment complexes.
The upstairs had 3 bedrooms (downstairs had 1), which were well furnished and cooled with individual a/c units. The upstairs units also had skylights - making them quite nice during the day (in addition to the window space). There was a well-equipped laundry upstairs as well.
The hosts are among the best one could hope for. They were very responsive even on minor matters (there was no major issue, mostly small enquiries that came from our side). We were looking for some consultation/advice regarding longer term stays in NYC and they were kind enough to even meet us in person and provide some invaluable guidance!
I recommend the unit and location to anyone wanting a nice large...

The Good: Rove is exceptionally responsive and communicative. The property itself is undeniably stunning, featuring numerous modern amenities, and it's brand new.
The Bad:
All showers lacked soap in dispensers.
There were no shower caddies or built-in cubbies for me to place my soap or shampoo, which would have been convenient.
The air conditioning system had a water leakage issue, resulting in a constant dripping sound throughout the night.
The pool wasn't well-maintained and often had debris due to nearby trees and branches.
The Ugly:
The property's location in a somewhat unsettling neighborhood raised safety concerns.
Main living room windows lacked shades, compromising my privacy.
Limited visibility through the frosted windows next to the front door made it challenging for me to identify visitors.
There were no windows providing a clear line of sight to the driveway.
The presence of critters (geckos, ants, and flies) inside the house was a recurring issue. Despite notifying Rove, pest control services were not immediately provided, and the critter problem persisted.
Despite reading through several reviews beforehand, I encountered unexpected challenges, particularly with critters and safety concerns, which weren't reflected in previous reviews.
.Rove did credit me for one day as compensation for my early departure ( I couldn't spend another night there), but the safety issues remain a concern that should...
