Where should I start? Ok, so I wander into Ego furniture July 6, 2023 around 4pm. My gut told me not to buy anything from the store, but I figured, why not support a local business? There were two ladies sitting at the front. One short, one tall. So the short one asks if I needed help, and I said YES! I specifically went in to buy my son a bedroom set, and the first thing I told the young lady was that I only needed a bed, the long dresser and mirror. I looked around and it didn’t take long to find one! We go back to the front of the store and we start the financing application. Boom, I’m approved! So I say, I think I’ll treat myself to a new set! I go look to find something I liked and showed the short young lady. I could tell she didn’t know what she was doing because the taller gal kept correcting her once she got behind the desk on her computer. I asked them to give me two weeks for delivery, and they said ok. Friday July 21st I raced home from work to meet the junk hauler who was taking my old stuff out of my house. He came and went. Deliveries for this store start at 2pm, Monday-Friday. They arrived by 5:30ish-6pm. Not only did they not have my entire bedroom set, they didn’t even have my sons stuff. The owner (Solomon) said it was his fault that my pieces were not on the truck because they were coming straight from their warehouse or factory. Ok. So they deliver just my bed frame. Solomon promised he would get my bedroom set to my house the next day on Saturday. He did all by himself. And for my inconvenience, he offered me a new full sized mattress & box spring for my sons bed. Great! He said he’d delivery it on Tuesday (today), July 25th. They delivered my sons stuff, but it wasn’t what I ordered. I specifically ordered a long dresser because my son has a huge tv. You’ll see my pics I post below to see just how big his television is. Apparently the short girl that helped me ordered and charged me for the wrong thing. I was angry because Solomon said he had a dresser on the truck that belonged to another customer, but that I would have to pay the difference. Now going back to when I was in the store on July 6th and they told me my sons stuff was less than $800 I was shocked. But as a customer coming in to spend money with this store, I’d never imagine having to double check for her to pick the correct pieces. I don’t work there 🤷🏽‍♀️.Solomon got a little impatient because I was telling him this is not what I ordered. Then I said I’d dispute this because again, not what I ordered. Then he was ready to drive off. However, I’m not going to do that because I’m not a devious person, but Solomon may need to get rid of that young lady because she doesn’t know what she’s doing. Solomon also needs to maybe focus on running his business as the owner and quit being a delivery driver. He mentioned several times that he has been up early and has kids. Sir, you’re not the only one. The taller gal seemed more knowledgeable than the other one that helped me, but in between telling the short girl how to place my order, she was taking care of her child who was on the floor behind the desk and looking at her phone. I will never patronize this place again. So much for supporting a local business.

Bought a very nice dresser and had it delivered, as my daughter was starting to put her clothes into it she saw a pair of children's under ware stuffed behind one of the drawers. In another drawer, she found a tooth. I called the store and told them what we had found. The manager told me all the merchandise is new and they would like a picture sent to them of the items found. I pressed him on the new issue and he just kept assuring me they don't sell used items. I asked him how the underpants and tooth got in the dresser and he said they could order me a new dresser. I told him they should tell people if it's used furniture and proceeded to ask if it had been cleaned up, wiped down and precautions taken before it was delivered to me because of Covid, not to mention a whole host of other things. He kept insisting they do not sell used items. Needless to say, EGO Home Furniture in Winston-Salem lies to its customers and OBVIOUSLY sells used furniture without disclosing it as such. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB!

Rosey was an excellent salesperson who went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. She gave us time to think and talk about the sofa/products. She was very knowledgeable about each product and worked to get us a great price. I would recommend shopping here and to work with Rosey. The manager was very polite and very friendly. Delivery was on time and assembled correctly. I will definitely shop here now forward.

Rosey was an excellent salesperson who went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. She gave us time to think and talk about the sofa/products. She was very knowledgeable about each product and worked to get us a great price. I would recommend shopping here and to work with Rosey. The manager was very polite and very friendly. Delivery was on time and assembled correctly. I will definitely shop here now forward.

Be aware do not conduct business with this place. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The staff is very unprofessional; they are either all seating around eating and gossiping, or outside smoking (I am not even sure if most of the people laughing and gossiping in the store actually work there). I viewed their website a few months back and finally decided to go in to purchase a bed-set that I really liked. They informed me that they didn’t have that model in stock so it would take about a month for it to arrive (not including delivery time). Fortunately, they had another model that I also liked and was in stock; so I would be able to get it within the delivery time-frame which is one week. I went ahead and made the purchase thru their 90-day payment plan option after leaving a down-payment. They said I would get my delivery within a week. My purchase was on a Wednesday; the following week came along and I called on Wednesday to see when to expect delivery. They informed me that it would come in the next day (Thursday) between the times of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have a job. How can someone be on a 5 hour standby to have furniture delivered to your home. So I called them back on the morning of Thursday to see if I could get an approximate time of when my furniture would arrive. They said the delivery guys would call me when they were 30 min away from my home. I can’t ask a half-day off from work just to get furniture dropped off so I was basically on standby at work waiting for a call from them. They finally called around 2 pm and said they were 21 minutes away. Finally, after rushing home to meet them one of the delivery guys said I had not paid to have the furniture set-up. I have never heard of something so outrageous (a separate set-up fee which they never informed me of at the time of my purchase. I told the guys I was not informed of this fee and so they said they would do it just this once out of the kindness of their hearts cause normally there is a fee to set-up your furniture. I called the store the next day and they said that was not the case, delivery fee includes the set-up as well. A few weeks passed and when I went to make my payment (I wanted to make 3 months’ worth) they said the maximum they could process at one-time was two months. This is so outrageous as well. Why wouldn’t you want your clients to make a high payment than the bare minimum. The next month came along and when I went in the store four employees were eating their lunch and seating in a group laughing they said the person that processes payments was taking a smoke break and that she would be in shortly (wow is all I have to say to that, outstanding customer service skills). I waited for 20 minutes when she finally arrived and I informed her that I had to make a payment to which she replied that she can only process 1 or 1.5 months’ payments at a time. (again no one is on the same page at this place). They say one thing then someone else says something completely different. After making my payment I asked for a balance and she took out a calculator and gave me a balance higher than the original balance I had upon my arrival. I showed her my receipts and then she said ok your right (pure incompetence at its best here folks). Again do not do business...

The worst place to buy in Winston will tell you anything in order to get you to buy same day including promise a next day delivery they will never deliver on or call to inform you that your furniture won’t be able to make it. Then guarantee a early appointment slot for the very next day before 2pm and never call to confirm that delivery date with you. You might as well call them or you’ll be forgotten (now does that seem right after you paid as much as you did for “top of the line” furniture ???) then you’ll ask what time before 2pm and the customer service representatives at the front counter are throughly trained to provide half way truths like the “driver” will call you when he’s otw which he never does. So you’ll need to callback again at 1:30p to let them know you never got a call from the driver and they’ll place you on hold to fake try to locate him and feed you more lies like “the driver broke down” but if you’d never called you would’ve never known. I was so quick to trust a small furniture business because I rather support within my community, but I see why people rather take their money elsewhere the level of professionalism is poor and the integrity factor of this business is questionable 1400 for a bed and mattress set and no refund so I was in turn treated like I didn’t even deserve the courtesy of communication when it came to my two items.. just left in limbo wondering if it’d ever show up and then told lie after lie about when it would. frustrating just isn’t even the proper word for how I felt.. the worst/best money I ever spent, because the only good thing that came from this is that I now have a bed I love but wish i wouldve just went through Colfax furniture at least I would’ve got a warranty and a reliable and effective...
