Dollar General — Local services in Winterset

We were pleased when DG began requiring masks. The sign on the door says “MASKS REQUIRED” and when we were there Friday, August 7 everyone was wearing a mask except a mother and her teenage daughter who seemed to be friends with the clerk. They stood at the counter chatting while three of us in masks waited 6’ apart. When I checked out I asked the clerk why she did not either ask them to put on masks or leave? She greets everyone who enters. She adamantly insisted masks are not required. “Masks are not required. Just recommended. I can’t do anything!”

Our masks do not protect us. They. Protect others like that mothers And her daughter for whom she sets a bad example.
