Loose Goose — Local services in Winterville

My first time visiting was not good as I had driven with my family over 40 miles just to find the business closed when they were advertised to be open. A 30 minute trip to the Harbor freight tools down the street to pass the time didn't help either as upon our return we found the business still closed.

Several weeks later we returned and found them open and went inside. Upon entering we were greeted by a lady sitting behind a desk in the middle of a large room and possibly babysitting a young boy. We looked around and noticed a door labeled the "Loose Goose". The Woman confirmed with a nod when asked if we go that way for the Loose Goose.

Upon entering this other room we noticed a sharp increase in temperature as there was no air conditioning in there. A sign prominently displayed, let us quickly know, that all prices are firm and non-negotiable. This was a shame because a lot of the prices really should have been negotiated even before being affixed to the items. I understand that one man's junk is another mans treasure, but did they have to take that saying so literally.

Bottom line, they had some nice stuff, some ok stuff, some interesting stuff and some stuff that was just plain junk. This isn't a place to find a bargain, but nice things can be had if your willing to part with the money. I for one had hoped this would be a good place to find a diamond in the rough and then negotiate a fair...

I have purchased several items from The Loose Goose and the quality and prices were always great.... They also occasionally have some really usual pieces, if you’re able to visit frequently.... Several years ago, I even used their moving services when I inherited items that had belonged to my grandparents and I was extremely impressed with the care that they took with my grandparents’ treasures....

My husband I stopped in to look around for a couple of pieces we were looking for, for our new home. Ended up finding one very nice dresser and a couple of nice lamps. Ms. Linda and her daughter were very nice and helped with bringing the dresser out to my van. Ms. Linda was also very nice to just talk with. We will definitely come back from time to time to see what treasures we’ll be...
