FBi Buildings, Inc. — Local services in Wolcott

We had a $200,000 building constructed, and unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. The structure has been plagued with persistent issues, particularly water leaks, which they have attempted to fix multiple times—without success.

They provided us with a blueprint, but failed to follow it during construction. Even while unresolved problems remained, they pressured us to make the final payment. Since then, they've been largely unresponsive to our warranty claims.

I’m giving one star only because I can’t give half a star. I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

Update. 8/4/2025. I got several calls after this review was originally posted, I was even asked to delete my review. They said it was hard getting a warranty crew out this far in Iowa. I asked if we could get a local company to take a look at it. After a couple of calls they agreed and I called three companies to come look at it. One company was a no quote and I then sent the lowest quote to FBI. The local company found loose foam blown into the building from the seal on ridge cap. They quoted to replace foam in that area. FBI agreed to pay the quote that was based on the service call.

3 weeks later when they showed up to do the work. They found the foam seal was installed incorrectly which is why it was failing. They highly recommended that have the foam installed per the manufactures instruction on the whole roof. When I approached FBI about paying for the entire ridge cap foam replacement they declined as they had written me a check for the original estimate.

I had the opportunity to inspect the roof and wanted to share some of the photos I took. The placement and quality of the screw installation were extremely poor. I have many more pictures documenting the issues. I’m deeply disappointed that the company is unwilling to stand behind its work. P.S. — I strongly advise against letting them install...

If i could put negative stars i would. Horrible experience. We have a building now with wavy walls ray Charles could see caused from piss pour backfill around posts. Had to pick cutoff pieces out of post holes daily when it was going up. Trim work is like a 5 yr old done the work. The interior they lined all the tin. Screw lines are all over the place not straight screws are falling out. All overhead door framing had to have tin shimmed out to be straight cause they don't know how to pull string lines and set posts straight. Then we took their recommendation for a overhead door guy and guy took ours along with multiple other fbi customers money. To the tune of 400k dollars. The goos door guy tharpe garage doors is now in jail. If you want a good screwing and lose money ...

Their JUNK is MY problem! Do not hire FBI. Do not hire FBI. Do not hire FBI. Unless you want to pick up their garbage afterwards, and be told that’s “your problem“ per the contract. They come late, they leave early. No one speaks English. The one manager who does provides zero leadership. So all you're left with is bunch of junk from their workers thrown onto your ground.
