Driving historic Route 66 from Chicago to St. Louis and saw they had a drive-in theater in Springfield. Checked their website which showed movie times for Tuesday, 8/26/15. We were really excited to see a movie at an old time drive-in. Changed our plans to stay in Springfield overnight so we could do so. Drove out to theater about 3:30 p.m. and marquis was on. Website showed movie times for that night specifically starting at 8:35 pm. Checked into a hotel, had dinner and ready to go to theater. Got there at 8:10 p.m. and theater was completely dark with no lights on. Thought maybe they were late getting there. Checked website again 15 minutes later when no activity and still showed movies starting at 8:35 pm for that evening. Called phone number and got amusement park next door who told us that drive-in is only open on Friday and Saturday nights. Completely wasted our time. THEIR WEBSITE SHOULD NOT ANNOUNCE SHOW TIMES FOR DATES THEY ARE NOT OPEN!!!! Very disappointing.....we could have easily made St. Louis for the night which was our...
Read moreWhat a weird experience. Ordered the tickets online ahead of time, got through the gate relatively easily. Ticket box only directed us to the screen we were going to. We pulled up in a second row and we're immediately chastised because we were in a van and going to be sitting and looking out of the back with our hatch open. We needed to move back a row. We did, and we're approached to move again. We moved for a second time and another person in our party was told they needed to move a few more feet. If they want to be so particular, they should have the ticket box instruct you better or have marked parking areas. We were then approached with a piece of string to hold our hatch down a little bit so others could see that we're behind us. There was nothing to attach our string to and they weren't happy about it as if we could control that. The young employees zip around on the golf carts way too fast and drive dangerously. Someone is going...
Read moreMy husband & I were visiting family in Springfield for a pre-holiday celebration. Looking for something to do. We decided to go to the drive-in. We saw Jurassic Park and Adrift. We ordered pizza from the concession. It takes 15-20 minutes to cook a whole pizza. We waited for our pizza. We were informed that our pizza was made incorrectly. We could have both pizzas but, we have to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for our pizza. They took our phone number and called when it was ready. The menu needs updating because, there's several things on the menu they no longer serve. The pizza was decent. The bathrooms needed to be attended to. All in all it was a good outing. I would go back when in...
