CT Voyager Balloons — Local services in Woodstock

Simply fantastic!!! There were 5 adults in our party, 3 including myself flew in a balloon 18 years ago, the other 2 adults had never flown before. Communication throughout was excellent. We were very flexible with our availability and changed our original schedule date to work around the weather. Instead of a sunrise flight on Sunday, we opted for a sunset flight on the Friday on the Woodstock Fair. Weather plays a big factor and CT Voyager prioritized our safety. Maggie was the POC and her responsiveness was exceptional! Our scheduled meetup was at a local restaurant and then we traveled a short distance to the launch area, where we watched a well orchestrated team prepare the balloon. The basket had 2 sides, 1 section for our professional pilot Mehmet and his 3 propane tanks, and the other section was for our party of 5 adults, but 6 could have comfortable fit. The ride itself was very smooth and relaxing. We flew to about 3500 feet, and then gently descended over a corn field where the bottom of the basket graised the top of the corn stalks. The aerial views of the New England landscape were charming. We could see distant views of Providence, Boston, Long Island Sound, and closer towns of Putnam...simply breathtaking! We flew for about an hour with a very gentle landing. The chase team did an excellent job of guiding us safely down. The prepared post-flight celebration was a perfect ending to our special sunset ride. Both champagne and sparkling juice were provided to toast (we had nonalcohol drinking people in our party), along with a fresh dessert. The thoughtfulness and personal touches made this adventure a true bucket list dream come true. Maggie provided additional photos she took of us from the ground: departure, flying, and safely landing. Individual certificates were presented to each of us as a take home souvenir, and more photos were taken. I will be compiling all our photos into keepsake gifts, 2024 calendars and memory books. My husband and I had the very best hot air balloon experience with CT Voyager Balloons!!! We have been watching hot air balloons floating along in the sky for 50 years, which is how long we've been married! Every year we would say, "that looks like so much fun. Someday we will have to go up in one, maybe next year." But with the business of daily life "next year" became something we had to put into a "bucket list" for the future. But once we retired and had our big anniversary coming up, we finally decided to do it now. We did our research to find a hot air balloon flying business in our area, Northeastern, CT who were experienced and reputable, and found CT Voyager Balloons on Google. We were astounded that every review for them was 5 STARS!!! Amazing. And so is ours. They are rated as THE top notch company to fly with, and once you book a flight with them you'll know why!! No other company compares to them. They are the best!!! As soon as you book your flight with Maggie she is in constant communication with you about flying only in safe weather with excellent visibility. A flight might have to be cancelled more than once in order to meet safety regulations, but this is the kind of company you want to fly with, putting people's safety first, before profit. Our flight had to be cancelled twice due to inclement weather, but you have to have patience and know you will go up when it's safe to do so. Mehmet, a 26 yr. veteran balloon pilot, only flies in safe weather. His flying skills are excellent and so very smooth going up and landing. The crew did a wonderful job of getting the balloon ready for flight and landing. Maggie, Mehmet, and the two crew members, were beyond compare in their friendliness, knowledge, and expertise in the hot air balloon business. We will go up with them again. You should too. For those who want to do something extra special, unique and/or daring, I recommend, a hot air balloon ride by, Voyager Balloons! I have to say, I am one lucky lady! My husband, David surprised me with a sunrise hot air balloon ride for my birthday. Kudos to him!

We were greeted, with a big smile, by crew member Maggie. She offered coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, fruit and coffee cake. She is SO sweet.

Pilot Mehmet and crew members, Dave and Josh also had a hand in making my day even more special from beginning to end as well. Each knew how to relax those of us, ME, who was a little nervous being that it was my first time.

While pilot, Mehmet and crew members set the balloon for our flight, Maggie made my day even more festive by providing me with a birthday necklace that said, “it’s my birthday” and taking tons of timeless pictures of us. She is high spirited and a pleasure to talk with.

During our flight, Pilot Mehmet was amazing. He’s also very personable and entertaining. My husband likes to ask a lot of questions, Mehmet answered them all. He is an incredible pilot too; he balanced our basket on a pond of water, so perfectly. Our flight was smooth sailing and awe-inspiring; we saw deer and beautiful countryside thought-out our tour and cows looking up at us and we were low enough to say hello to a guy playing golf. LOL

Once we landed, we had our, “first flight ceremony” along with a birthday party as Maggie, set a table with Champaign and a birthday cake with a candle. Thank you Maggie.

The entire experience was extra special and such a creative idea! Both David and I will absolutely recommend this company.
