Dollar General — Local services in Woodville

Rude. I’ve bought the same items every Sunday for the past 8 or 9 months. Sunday I went in to buy my usual 2 products, same exact prices on the shelf. I got to the check out and my total was quite a bit higher than usual. I asked what the prices rang up and one item was ringing up higher than the price on the shelf. I nicely mentioned that the price at the register was higher than the shelf price to the red haired girl who was ringing me up and she rolled her eyes and threw her hands up in the air and snapped at me. She said “I don’t know what to tell you!” I have seen her working in the store many times and she’s always acting aggravated at customers, never smiles or greets people and overall acts like she doesn’t want to be there. It seems like she’s miserable at her job, but we are all out here struggling with food prices right now and obviously the store hasn’t increased prices on the shelves so people on a tight income can budget their groceries. Then she not only made zero effort to check the price (nobody was in line behind me) but she was rude in the way she acted. I hope whatever makes her act so miserable in that store gets better for her, but she needs to keep some level of customer service to those of us who are just trying to get by. The rest of the employees in this location are always friendly, but she makes me want to avoid the check out when she’s working. I’ll just take my Sunday...

A friend turned me on to DolGen app. I used it for the first time yesterday shopping from a list and saved a solid ten spot for things I was going to buy anyway. One advantage is shopping in a smaller store (e.g., Walmart, Publix, Kroger). I already know where everything is located is advantage two. Plus, the app keeps a running $ total of the items I check off my list. Very simple and user friendly app makes pre-shopping from my couch akin to gaming. My goal is to find what I need at the best price. The coupons are automatically applied within the app AND there is a built-in "switch to save even more" feature that is worth checking out. I tell you w'hut. I've never been more pleased as an American as when I stepped food into this God-given establishment. The second those sliding doors opened, I could see a display of products that even a 4th of July fireworks show couldn't compete with. As I rolled my cart down the first aisle, and a single tear rolled down my cheek. I was finally where I needed to be to fulfill my destiny. I bought a single package of generic moon pies, and made my journey to the register. Quick and speedy checkout, the way God intended it.
