Absolutely a horrible place!!! At night they have mail staff only and on top of that the cameras in the hall to patients rooms are out of order. They schedule staff without a training to give meds out so people can’t get their needed meds. Staff do nothing address feelings or concerns. If you are upset or struggling I was even told my Crisis is not as important as another. I was also told I can not return when I the one who was miss treated. They also failed the first night I got there to address my feelings. Each time I have had overwhelming feelings nobody was willing to help me navigate those and just let me discharge. No strings allowed now. Cant have a top the brush, hair brush or any thing for personal hygiene. Thats probably why one of the patients there smelt so bad it cleared the room.
I was here when it was safe Harbor. It was an absolute incredible experience. The fact the staff are willing to discuss in front of patients their workplace drama and tell the patient how nothing is getting done or people are getting fired is really disruptive people already struggle. It’s like they WANT people to discharge without getting the help they need. They could care less if we unalive ourselves or not. As long as it fits their agenda. They treat their fav patients way better and provide them with more support than those who are showing signs of needing it.
Patients here are suffering because of work place drama and gossip and the lack of training and understaffing are prohibiting proper standards of care. This place should be shut down (at least temporarily so staffing can be completed properly, resources can be made available , and at least one person can give meds at all times)
I will be calling the state medical board, and filing a complaint with department of...
Read moreAs with all places in Iowa, short staffed, high turnover, new manager, tired and burnt out employees. Kurt and Maria on stabilization side are angels, but others seem to spend more time chatting with each other and not focusing as much on those here in "CRISIS". The counselor is a man working out of his home so you talk to him on a computer screen. Did not feel he was able to help me at all! And paused our session to go use the the bathroom at his house! Very unprofessional. Five day stay LOTS of intake paperwork!! Then they are trying to figure out discharge options. You are on your own as far as how to spend your days. As with most places in Central Iowa if you have a drug or addiction problem insurance and that state pays for long term care and treatment. I was assaulted not safe and ZERO options for a place! 5 days here and I will be on the street at almost 70 years of age!! NO RESOURSES for the huge amount needing help. A clean nice facility but much improvement can be made. AND a counselor told me to find this place in Perry IA.. It is in Woodward IA. Sad the lack of communication within all agencies and ALOT of wrong info on the interest 😕. DO better AND pay people what they deserve! CEO'S of all should take a pay CUT. And give their staff enough $$ to...
