I don't even know where to start. Today was my families first and last time visiting the big apple. On this beautiful Sunday I was expecting to have a nice experience at this farm. A lot of people there probably thinking the same. Needless to say I have a different opinion of my time there. It started out with " you will purchase your bags at the top of the hill" no prices were given to us and thinking that we will get a nice tractor ride up there. It turned out to be we had to pay $3 per person for that 2 minute ride up the hill... ridiculous... you would be think that would be for free. Its free other places like four town farms and wojciks farm. We finally get on top of the hill and we go and get our bags thinking there would be a good price for our bags since we are picking our own apples. Soon to find out a little bag ( 1 peck ) coast $25 and half a bushel $35 RIDICULOUS!!!!! and the greatest part is it was cash only! no signs anywhere that said that. Stinks for people who don't carry cash on them like me and couldn't even get a bag because I only had my debit card on me. Had to borrow money from my dad just so I could pick my apples. We picked our apples... took about 10 minutes ... Went back down to the store and soon to find out yet again that the apples that they were selling In the store were cheaper than the ones we picked ourselves. And in the store when you wanted to purchase apples, donuts, pickles, cider ect. it was only cash and check only and had to use a ATM if you wanted to buy stuff. SMH! So at this point i'm very very aggravated and disappointed. I had to ask one of the workers why the apples that are picked for you are cheaper than the ones that you pick yourself and the explanation was " We have to charge more for Pick your own because there is a lot of apples that fall on the ground as a result of customers" So we have to make up for the price. Had I known this before going up to the orchards I would have walked away and bought the apples in the store which were way cheaper than picking your own. Workers there really really really rude. And one more thing... the whole place was cash only.. and why is that? is it because someone is pocketing the money and not paying taxes ? They even ask you if you want your receipt... thats not okay. I will never recommended this place to anyone. FIRST AND LAST TIME FOR ME (: NOT...
Read moreIt's fall in New England and that means it's apple time. I work for a company that does horse-drawn rides and we did an event here. This beautiful farm makes me so happy. The overlooks are breathtaking and the fact that you're picking delicious apples on a hilltop under a beautiful blue sky while looking across valleys on both sides of you, simply can't be topped. If that was all The Big Apple had going for it, that would be enough, but wait there's more. After weighing all those mouth-watering apples you just picked, you can stop by the store on your way out. Make sure that you get some cider slushy, it will blow your mind. I actually stopped talking to my friends until I finished it because it was that good. They have many different pies, pre-picked apples, jellies and jams, along with all sorts of heavenly backed goods. I recommend the Heavenly Jam, it makes a killer PB&J. I'm pretty choosy about who I do business with and I can personally attest that the owners are warm, wonderful people who take care of their employees and take their farm very seriously. No matter where you live in New England, I promise you that The Big Apple is worth the drive, it's a very special place. I had a moment last weekend where I looked up at the sky, closed my eyes and smelled the apples, and the grass and trees. I listened to all of the happy families experiencing apple picking, some for the first time, our horse chuffed while she snacking and I realized how happy I was...

We always looked forward to going because we would get the warm apple cider donuts, and I loved to dip the donuts in a cup of cold cider. When I went to the big apple yesterday, I I saw on a shelf, some donuts bagged with visible Steam, So I knew those were warm. When I went to the counter to ask about warm donuts, they said that they didn’t serve them warm anymore. I told the Young workers there that I did see a bag with Condensation On the inside of the bag The clear plastic, I asked if I could purchase that bag. They told me no. It’s sad, that they changed their ways and customer service just isn’t the same anymore. That core memory that I had coming here with my grandmother will never happen again. Just for that reason, I will never probably...
