I know a fair deal of people like to complain about this place and it's "clientele" I went on a good day. Had a blast.
I would use this as my go to rifle range. I am hoping they can work on getting and keeping the 200yrd range open often.
That's not to say its bad for pistol or mid rifle work. Its just not as good as closer, similar options for sub 50 yards.
So if you hunt and are looking for a good spot to set up and test your rifle out. This is it. If your a USPSA shooter. This probably isn't going to give you the best bang for buck. But still a great place to get that standard basics down and run them. Then this place beats the price of others if your doing basic pistol drills as you can be here all day for the price of competitors.
Overall. Staff is cool and relaxed in my experience.
The only things I would ask is what I mentioned. We struggle to get a long range here that isn't north LA. These guys could really sell out those benches on the 200/300 if they catered to it.
The only other thing. Its a little steep compared to other offerings. Now again. Open that 200+ up, the price is just right and you would be able to really cater to rifle shooters. As the pistol guys are typically going to look at other options.
Overall. Go on a good day and you will have a blast no matter what. Its shooting at the end of the day. But keep in mind. You aren't going to be doing run and gun stuff here....
Read moreHonestly this has been one of my best experiences. I was there as the first shooter and it was a bit foggy. I was having troubles sighting in my firearm and the RSO [didn't get his name but he said he was 77] helped sight it in. It took us awhile as we were having to do more then average the number of clicks in the scope but now we are hitting 100 meters plus consistently. [red dot]
RSO was super chill as was the staff in office.
Essentially you park by the front office. Go in sign paperwork and pay. They also have some extra stuff including a brass catcher which I highly recommend [15 bucks]. When you go in you pay the fee. 16 bucks[no time limit]. If you don't have a chamber flag that's another 1$ but it's one time if you keep it.
You can purchase targets that have stands for 6 bucks. They also have other paper targets.
On the rifle range there is a pistol only length, 25, 50 100 200 meter targets lengths.
How it works is people fire for 18 minutes, then ceasefire for people to check the targets of new shooters to set up. Of course if your the only shooter there it's a bit different.
You must put chamber flag in and remove any magazines from the firearm during a cease fire.
Great experience as well and awesome if you are bringing a new shooter with...
Read moreGreat place to shoot most range masters are very polite and helpful and are great at keeping order and the range safe. Has several ranges for rifle with a 200 yard maximum, pistol, shotgun and archery ranges. There is a 300 yard range that has never been open in the year I have been visiting. Great attention to safety detail is enforced during cease fire. Prices on ammo are decent. You can bring your own targets including iron targets, they must be at least 18" above the ground from the bottom of the target. They sell you wooden target stands $6 and basic paper targets. Placing the holders into the ground requires a spike and mallet which they provide at the firing line, you have to make sure you dig deep enough or the wind will knock down your target, there are staplers provided to attach your paper targets. There is no restriction to the caliber of gun you shoot but California legal is enforced, no tracer, armor piercing or steel core ammo is allowed. Chamber flags are required for each weapon bring your own or buy them at the gun range store. There is one range master that a few have had the unfortunate experience to deal with and probably the cause of many bad reviews, he should not be the reason to give this range...
