Old Fort Western Store — Local services in Wytheville

Last November(2021) I got my husband a pair of pull on style cleated logging boots, Twisted X brand, from the Old Fort western store in Wytheville. They were 200.00ish so I hoped they would last at least few months...the inner lining of the boot started pulling away from the sole, to point that he thought he was going to have to cut the boot off his foot...this was the 5th month since purchase. These boots were not wore out, the tread on the bottom didn't even show much wear..as he doesn't wear these every single day.. I looked up Twisted X company, they do offer a warranty, requiring the original receipt and return to the place of purchase...to have them send them back possibly for review. We went back to Old Fort, honestly not expecting them to do anything....they took them back, to send back without issue, stated that some have had this issue about the inside coming out. While we were there, he picked out another pair because regardless, he needed some to wear...and we took them to the counter to pay for them... They decided to take a chance on Twisted X honoring their warranty, and traded those boots out....no money exchange...and would call me if we owed any difference when they settled it. That is great customer service, and I will be buying all our boots there from now on...our society has lost its ability to provide great customer service, or the consumer to be grateful when we do receive it....one simple act and decision has made them some forever customers... I am sure they make these kind of decisions frequently based on the fact that they have been in business a long time...but I sure appreciated it...and was refreshingly surprised! Please...

What an amazing experience for my Wife and I both! We loved the place time we walked through the door. Boots as far as the eye could see! Belts, saddles and chaps, too. I could smell the leather. Jerry Jeff Walker was playing on the radio. I thought I had crossed over to a Good Ole Boys Paradise! We felt right at home. The Owners/Staff were very friendly and helpful. We honestly went just to look around. The Gentleman helped me pick out a pair of boots. They are honestly the best and most comfortable pair I own. Trust me, I have a collection of boots. They are comfortable and needed no breaking in. They are so comfortable that I feel like I could work in them all day, shine 'em up, and go out dancing all night. Also I bought a really nice shirt. Comfortable and great fit too. They have all your cowboy needs covered, from work to play. Biggest selection we have ever seen. BIG SIZES TOO! My Wife and I can't wait to return. They will try to sell you a saddle, even though it is not what you need or are looking for. They told me a 16" endurance saddle would work, though I' have been using a western, 151/2 seat, for 3 years. Turned out the saddle is too big for me and I do not like an endurance saddle. RETURN POLICY STATES 30 DAYS BUT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK W/IN 4 DAYS. I live several hours away and drove all the way back as soon as I could. The same saddle on the internet sells for $350.00 LESS. Needless to say I can sell a saddle I rode in one time for $400-$500 less than I bought if for at...
