God I sure do miss Ole Ben Brendle. And the old fella what worked with him back in the 90s. I've probably ate 1000 of Ben's Bologna and Cheese's and had a thousand of the little 6 1/2 bottles of Coke standing there jawing with everyone about whoever wasn't there. Brackie and Scotty Hemric, Mike Harris,them ole Shores, Junior Coe, and dozens of other characters of the highest quality,hey love em or hate em they were all good hardworking honest men that knew how to properly pull a two week drunk in a dry county without being late or missing a bit of work and if you disagreed with them you'd best be civil about it because they everyone of them were hands down not a fight for anyone below journeyman status,and after that fight they'd still ride to Ben's with ya for a pop and a Moonpie. And if you knew them at all you could predict their reaction to the morning news with the certainty of the sunrise. I'd trade all I've done these last 3 decades to see everyone all together in the perfection that our fondly reminiscent memory paints them again. God bless...
