This is NOT a hike. No boots required. It was a path (some gravel) to a fence where you can peer over to see a small but powerful waterfall from a good distance away. You can physically get over the fence but it would be a very nasty fall if you were to slip. Once leaving that if you continue back on the path it leads to a small wooded opening and a gorgeous powerful river to your right. Lots of awesome little natural pools to play in. Gorgeous view up the river that will grab your attention in a heartbeat. I saw dogs on leashes. There was port a potty where you park. A picnic table and lots of signage to make sure you do not forget the rules. When it rains it becomes VERY muddy. About a mile and a half round trip. I took a 5 year old and she had a blast and no trouble at all.

Wanted a little adventure so drove out here, and man you are driving for some time. But it's worth it.Road ends, small parking lot, and one porta potty. Rangers house and then the walk down to the falls. There's garbage cans and dog waste stations With bags,(Do your part to keep clean, wherever you hike.) Nice viewing platform and other areas you can see the river. Easy hike for the whole family. The rocks are slippery watch your step while adventuring on them, good shoes recommended this time of year. Enjoy this escape from the city.

Nice small river that leads to a waterfall. Very short hike/walk to the viewpoint, good for kids and older folk. For the more adventurous you are able to get down to the water and swim in it, but as the posted sign says “swim at your own risk.”
