Food Lion — Local services in York

No one is ever at customer service. The one time I really needed someone there I had to wait, the. Wait for the person to talk/ finish her conversation with a coworker before being helped. Be very careful when purchasing food from this location. They leave expired food on the shelves/refrigerators for too long. I bought a frozen pizza that expired December 2022 in Feb. of 24. Luckily I noticed that although it was frozen the color of the toppings were off. Otherwise, I would've cooked it and most likely at least had a bite of spoiled food. Today, I bought a mini pie. As I ate it I thought it didn't taste good and I usually love them, but I blamed it on my taste buds because I ate something with lime before eating the pie. I ate it anyway, and towards the end noticed a stale taste. When I grabbed the package to throw it out, I noticed that there were two expiration stickers one in top of another. I peeled it back and there was a different expiration date. The pie had already expired. They obviously knowingly put a sticker with a later date over the correct one. That can be dangerous with certain foods. I will def look more closely at everything I buy in the future because I see that I can't trust the staff here to check and remove expired items routinely and we're not talking about a day or two after the expiration date. I am considering not continuing to shop here because selling expired food seems to be the norm at this location. This store will probably be emergency...

The organization of the store is good, the staff is okay. It is unfortunate that we have TWO food lions in our city and nothing else to choose from. The produce at this specific food Lion is spoiled by the time you walk out the door n does not matter what food it is. Broccoli, strawberries, blueberries, whatever. You also can't get "real" food for produce here. Come to find out, everything is lab grown, and they don't have any organic variety to choose from, for the most part. Anything that has 4 digits and starts with a 4 is genetically incubated, not grown. Essentially, if you want good produce, go to one of the farms around the corner from this store. Maybe just get your milk here. Heck I've even had an instance where I bought boxed Mac n cheese, and a week later I came to find out it expired 6 months before that... Check your dates and produce when...

I usually have good experiences here but today was a bit different. When I was going to buy the discount flowers upfront, three workers were standing there. Two young ladies talking and looking on phones. And I think a new guy. But when I got my flowers and went to check out . They didn’t even bother to discount and I waited to see if they would but no one bothered one walked off to talk about her kid to a customer but the other stayed on her phone and when I finally said I’m sorry I’m not paying 10 dollars for discount flowers she just walked over and took em off. I’m so disappointed. Because that was terrible customer service. To continue to stare at her phone while taking it off. Not even trying to...
