Spent many an afternoon here, as a kiddo, and waited on by Chata! She was a sweet woman!! We lived just further up the road past the store on Laguna Dam Road -the Hank Zhakowski place.. Dad worked for Bruce Church Ranch in Payroll, with Sylvia Chavez. Sweet woman. She had the most beautiful hair and complexion. 😊 We swam at the Dominguez’ pool-just across the road from Dad’s office- as often as we could. Hung out in the tack room of the cowboys who worked the cattle on the ranch.. What wonderful, wonderful memories of living there.. Eva Gifford was our bus driver. She was a jewel....
