I was overcharged by a cashier that didn't know how to refund someone else's lottery tickets. He asked to put it on my cash app which I'm not comfortable letting out my cash app tag. He acted nervous and he was the only cashier last night. I ordered an Italian sub sandwich, some cheese and sausage sticks all in one package, chex mix and a bag of pickle slices. Before a man came in an ordered two wild joker tickets for 5.00 each well apparently they weren't paid for. I was next and placed my order on the table which came up to 27 dollars and some cents being tired and thinking that was high for what I purchased, I glanced at my receipt sure enough there was two wild joker tickets on it for 5.00 each. I told the cashier and he made me wait until he finished ringing up the person behind me order. I told him he overcharged me by two lottery tickets. Instead of giving me a refund he re-scanned everything over and over again and told me he refunded everything to me and I had to re-pay for the food. He showed me a ticket where it looked like he refunded my 27 dollars. Well my bank account statement shows I have a purchase for 27 dollars and a second purchase for 17. So I paid twice for 4 items. They will rip you off at this establishment beware. His name on my two receipts said Jaylen. I will never stop here again and hope no one else does either. It was this Saturday night it happened to me August 23rd at approximately 9:50pm. I'm just writing this review to save someone else from spending the already ridiculous price times 2 for convenience food. It's not worth stopping. I would give it under 1...
Read moreJuly 1, 2024 at approximately 1:30 pm. I went in and grabbed a couple 28 Oz Gatorades from the cooler. Sign on the cooler shelf said 2 for $5.00. When my items were rang up, I questioned the store employee about the Gatorade pricing and the sign hanging in the cooler weren't matching. She even went back to check. Cashier called the manager up front and explained the situation. I politely asked to get the advertised price. The manager didn't bother to look at me and instead, looked at her cashier and said that adjusting the price wasn't something they could do. I took back my money on the counter, politely said "Thank you" and left. However, as I was walking out the door, the manager yelled, "YOU HAVE A NICE DAY!" in a condescending tone. Some may say this is petty, but, in fact, it was very poor customer service and, frankly, very rude. All I had asked was they honor the pricing on the sign hanging with the product. I stopped at another Duchess store a few miles out on the same road and saw they had the same sign. I asked that cashier about the price on 2 and was told they were not ringing up at the advertised price either. She, also, said she wasn't able to correct/override the price. I can only assume this inability to correct the prices to the advertised price for their customers is a corporate policy. I know those employees were only doing as they were instructed. However, there is no excuse for the manager's rudeness. I will be emailing the Duchess corporate office, but if their in-store policies are any indication, I doubt that I will...
