Muskingum County Fairgrounds — Local services in Zanesville

Even though it is not located in the best part of Zanesville and the average visitor is typically below the age of 18 the Muskingum County fair is still a very pleasant experience.

The rides for kids look safe and there are many to choose from. The carnival game operators are relaxed and don't insult you to play like some. There was a wide variety of fair food to choose from. And the Arcade wad reasonably priced.

Now to be completely honest, I always go to fairs for the animals. Their care was well monitored, they appeared to always have plenty of ventilation and food available which honestly puts them light years above most fairs, and the farming area should be proud with such a large diversity of breeds of each category imaginable.

Entry was $8, parking was free and easy, and fun...

Late night shopping i guess is my calling. They have mostly everything i look for or need...love the atmosphere there and i only have one complaint.....for the last year at least....ok wait...let me just recap a min...remember when Covid-19 first hit and everyone thought the $h!t was gonna hit the fan..literally...so they hoarded a warehouse full of toilet paper?... well i think them sons of anarchy bought out some of Hershey chocolate because i can barely find my Milky Way candy bars. I have better luck finding them at Dollar General..but heyyy....im not asked if im wearing bottoms yet at the water park when i walk in and im not told there is a 300 pound weight limit...howyadoin i weigh 165!!!.. 😅 courtesy of the movie NORBIT.. The fairgrounds is great for the fair of course but several other things take place there throughout the year like gun shows, farmers market, rib fest ect. It's also a good place to have your vehicle pushed into when it breaks down in the intersection lol so many nice people stopped to offer help. The man who closes the gate at night was nice enough to leave it open until the tow truck came to haul my vehicle out. I was thankful for his kindness because he could have been a jerk and told us we'd have to leave and come back the next day for my vehicle but he told us no problem he'd come back later to close up. Oh by the way you can get free manure...
