차창 밖 풍경은 점점 고산 사막의 삭막함을 더해가고 고도를 높이며 차는 헐떡이고 거친 숨을 몰아 쉬는 캄칙 패스로 접어든다.

캄칙 패스(Qamchiq Pass)는 우즈베키스탄 동부의 쿠라마 산맥에 있는 산길로 타지키스탄을 우회하여 페르가나 계곡의 타슈켄트와 나망간 키르기즈스탄 오시를 연결하는 A373 국제 고속도로 이며 정상은 해발 2,268m이다. 그 정상에 페레발 부르구트 휴게소(Pereval Burgut: Sarydala, Namangan viloyati,Uz)가 있다. 레스토랑 카페 마켓이 있는 작은 휴게소지만 발아래로 펼쳐지는 캄칙 패스 원형 고갯길의 아름다운 경치를 내려다보면 이야!와아!하는 탄성이 절로 터져 나온다.지구에 단 하나밖에 없는 완전한 360°원형 고갯길이다. 내가 본 세상에서 가장 아름다운 고개다. 쿠라마산 능선을 뒤덮고 있는 만년설과 어울어져 그림같이 아름다운 풍경을 이리저리 방향과 각도를 바꿔가며 정신없이 셧터를 눌러댄다.
