I went to Dany Island for 6 days from February to March 2025 with my friends and it was an absolute out of this world experience for me. It left such an impression on me that I will never forget the time I spent there for the rest of my life. It is an experience that everyone deserves at least once in their lifetime. As soon as you land in the airport, you are instantly overwhelmed by the fresh tropical breeze and steamy heat, and you know you have entered another world. And as you are driven to the port, you can see the endless landscape of coconut trees and tropical vegetation and you are greeted by the locals waving at you. Yes, they are all strangers to you but they all wave at you and smile, it is unbelievable how friendly these people are. Then as you go on a boat ride to Dany Island, the real magic unfolds. Behold the beautiful tropical island with sandy beaches suddenly appear in the distance and as it comes closer and closer you feel like you are entering a mysterious movie set where time has frozen still since the dawn of ages. Welcome to Dany Island! The Island is not too big and not too small, and you could actually walk or swim around the entire island in a full circle if you want to without too much difficulty. The island is full of tropical and coconut trees everywhere and certain parts are quite lush like a jungle but most parts are easily walkable covered with sandy soil. On the land, there are many funny and cute creatures everywhere like colonies of hermit crabs, wild chickens with their baby chicks, and a friendly dog called Daniel. It is so amazingly peaceful how all these animals interact with you. Then there is the beautiful sandy white beach on one side of the island where you can swim, dive and snorkel. I kid you not, this was probably the best beach that I have swum in my life because the water was so warm, calm, gentle, and clear, I could just float in the water and chill out for hours and hours. It was like time has literally frozen still around you as you just float around in the water, and you never want to get out. On one day, it rained while we were swimming and the heavy tropical rain pouring all around us as we were floating in the gentle warm water was such a surreal experience. Some of my friends went snorkelling around the island and they came back hours later and told me all about their underwater experiences and it absolutely blew my mind. They saw thousands of big and small colourful tropical fish swimming all around them as they snorkelled through the corals, they were gobsmacked by how beautiful it was. They also went out boat fishing and caught dozens of large lobsters and yellow fin tunas, and thanks to them we had plenty of five star hotel grade lobster and sashimi dishes. The freshly cooked lobster dish I had here on this island was by far the best lobster dish I have had in my life. The highlight of the island for me was definitely watching the sea turtle eggs hatching, and watching hundreds of tiny baby turtles crawling out of their eggs and running for the ocean. This was absolutely unreal. My friends and I were in total frenzy and euphoria as we tracked them, all the way from their hatching spot to the beach. We became one with the nature and knowing that we became part of those sea turtles' lives was an indescribable feeling. If you love the raw nature, adventure, tropics, animals, corals, fish, crabs, turtles, swimming, fishing, and boat riding, then Dany Island is the perfect place for you. The local people in Vanuatu were the most friendly people that I have ever met and I made many friends during my visit too. All this magic is waiting for you out there on Dany Island.

Dany Island in Vanuatu completely blew me away. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a postcard—crystal-clear waters, soft white sand, and not a single crowd in sight. The snorkeling here is unreal. I swam with colorful reef fish, explored coral gardens, and even spotted a few turtles cruising by. The water is warm, visibility is amazing, and it honestly felt like I had the entire reef to myself. If you’re into diving, this place is next level. Beyond the water, the island itself is stunning. There are plenty of shady spots to relax, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it the perfect place to switch off from the world. The locals are super welcoming too, happy to share stories and make sure you’re having the best experience. Whether you’re looking for adventure or just a spot to unwind, Dany Island is an absolute must-visit. I’ve been to a lot of beaches, but this place is something special. If you’re heading to Vanuatu, do yourself a favor and check it out!

Easily the best thing you can do in Santo. Insane snorkelling and very high quality of underwater life. Find Dany Island on Facebook and message the island owner and he will arrange transport (2000 vatu round trip for boat and 1000 vatu entry). Can stay the whole day. Departs from near turtle bay lodge and timing can be adjusted to suit your trip. Also recommend looking up the Dany Island private paradise song on YouTube by a local ni-Van artist 😂

My wife, 2 boys and I were fortunate to spend 4 nights as the first guests at one of Dany’s 6 new Villas. The entire experience was amazing thanks to the incredibly helpful and friendly Dany Island team. Dany island is perfect. It has beautiful, warm, clear water and an amazing white sandy beach. Dany is unique in that it offers the opportunity to swim and snorkel directly from beach at high and low tides. The snorkeling is excellent with a huge variety of corals, fish and other marine life that is thriving with Dany’s focus on conservation. The wide variety of trees and excellent coverage provide a cool escape during the day, shading the Villas keeping them at a very comfortable temperature. The Villas are extremely comfortable with air conditioning, fans, comfy queen-sized bed and a self-contained bathroom…all literally metres from the waves. The food and drinks were great, with 3 excellent meals a day that kept the adults and kids very happy. There is also a very quick laundry service in case you need any clothes washed during your stay. Dany and his team are all incredibly helpful with the whole experience, from pick up in Luganville to drop off, after our visit, being perfectly coordinated. There are a great range of activities available, with endless flexibility, including dugong tours, island walks, bush medicine education, blue hole visits, boat trips etc etc etc. The staff are willing and able to arrange any activity desired. We can’t recommend Dany Island highly enough and are already planning our next...
