Loved our boat tour to this small but authentic floating market. This floating market differs a bit from the larger Cai Rang market: it is mainly smaller boats and it is much less frequented, both by locals and tourists. We very much liked the atmosphere during dawn with the sun rising behind us illuminating the scene in a beautiful way. Cai Rang has a lot of very big boats, that people live one plus the smaller boats buying vegetables wholesale and carrying them to the street markets. If you want to experience both, it is best to book your tour starting at one of the homestays located between the two markets. Phong Dien opens and closes early in the day, Cai Rang runs all day long.

It was a great floating market experience even there weren’t much boats selling stuff but still a different experience to woke up at 3:30 in the morning and sail under the stars to reach the market in the sun rise. The seller women were so friendly and smiling.

What a beautiful experience! We did a little early morning trip to this floating market and it was so delightful! The morning fuss, the organized mess, the beautiful sunrise while having a delicious coffee and a yummy pho 🍜 Definitely recommend it! Also is the cutest lady that sells the coffee in this market also sells the most amazing banana chips that I’ve ever had! You will find it a little bit more expensive than normal prices on the street, but don’t forget that it will be a little bit touristy and they are selling from a boat!
