Phong Sơn Retreat — Local services in Lạng Sơn Province

Heartily recommend this place. You won't find places with this level of seclusion in Hà Giang or Lào Cai any more. Perfect to really relax. Bring any luxuries with you because you won't be able to buy them near here (wine, chocolate, favourite crisp flavours, cheese, etc.). I stayed there at a weekend which could be expected to be very busy, but other guests were all friendly and civilised. Of course when normal people travel to a beautiful countryside area like this they don't want to listen to ear-splitting karaoke performed by losers with no vocal talent and the echo setting turned up to maximum on the speaker. Luckily there was only about 1-2 hours of karaoke for the entire four days I stayed. Most families were more sensible and just played chilled or higher-quality music from small speakers for limited time (which I also did) – leaving the rest of the time to enjoy the sounds of nature. There is a cute dog here. The staff are all lovely, extremely helpful, and not intrusive or irritating or shouty. The young staff member speaks Iu Mien as well as Vietnamese, which is really interesting and good to learn more about to understand the variety of cultures which have migrated South from what is now Mainland China over the past few hundred years in this beautiful mountainous region. But I have a couple of tips for the property to remain competitive and keep their integrity: 1/ soundproof the cheapest rooms from one another; 2/ improve mattress quality in the Stone House (it's good in the cheap rooms); 3/ increase drink selection (wine, spirits); 4/ do not invest in fake Google Maps reviews. Mình đã rất háo hức khi biết đến Phong Sơn vì những bức ảnh trên fb sau khi tham khảo. Đặt phòng từ đầu tháng 7 và đến tháng 8 thì bùm!! Bên PS báo do các bạn lỗi phần mềm nên khách đặt trùng trên hệ thống Airbnb (mà thực chất là mình biết thừa do lỗi bên PS ko tắt nhận phòng sau đó chấp nhận huỷ phòng của GĐ mình để k bị trừ điểm uy tín trên app) nhưng bên PS đã giải quyết bằng cách bù phòng miễn phí cho gđ vào một ngày khác.

Tới tháng 9 mùa hồng, mình lại mang tâm trạng háo hức từ HN tới PS và mình quá bất ngờ, vì căn phòng so với những gì chúng mình nhận lại quá đắt và dịch vụ vô cùng tệ. Tủ lạnh chung bẩn vô cùng. Phòng nóng, nhà vệ sinh k đc sạch như kì vọng, hồng chín k đc dọn dẹp ngay nên có rất nhiều nhặng. Khi ăn tối và ăn trưa nhặng bâu đầy vào đồ ăn của gđ mình khiến mình rất khó chịu.

Đặc biệt là ở PS ko hề yên ả và healing như những gì mình kì vọng, ở đây nhận khách vào chụp ảnh quá nhiều, khách chụp khiến không khí ồn ào, phá vỡ hết những ảo tưởng của mình về 1 PS yên bình, trong lành và êm ả. Khách chụp ảnh để đồ khắp nơi, chúng mình ăn cơm ngồi cạnh đống đồ chụp ảnh của khách, con khách tới chụp ảnh ngồi dòm gđ mình ăn cơm, lúc bạn nhà mình đang ngồi chơi xích đu thì bị đuổi xuống để cho các cô chú khách vào chụp ảnh tác nghiệp. Mình rất thất vọng và sẽ kbh có ý định quay lại thêm 1...
