This is my first negative review in years. Diamond Bay Golf Course really disappointed me. We stay at the Diamond Bay Lodge and Spa. Yesterday they took us with a golf cart to the golf course. I wanted to make sure about my booking for the 26th of December. We went past a few buildings that were built...but never finished...arrived at the clubhouse...confirmed the booking...spent money at the pro-shop. Today, Christmas Day, my wife and I took a tandem bicycle to go have lunch at the golf club. There are no signs which we could see to say we are not allowed to go there. It is a little back road, the same one we took with the golf cart. At a security check point a young arrogant security member stopped us and wanted to take my wive's umbrella...explaining we are not allowed to take an umbrella with us. Also, he called another security guard...they said we are not allowed to go to the golf with the tandem bicycle. We started walking....when we arrived at the golf course...another security guard stopped us...laughing at us...I then called the clubhouse and explained that we came in the same way just the day before, and that we want to have lunch at the golf club, as they have Korean meals. The person at the golf said he would arrange a cart to come and fetch us.....a few moments later, another security guard arrived and refused that we take a golf cart. We had to walk back. At the place where we parked the bicycle the young security guard was even more arrogant. Refusing that we take the same bicycle we left there. I took it and we went straight to reception at Diamond Bay Lodge to complain and to tell them how we have been treated. I phoned the golf club again to cancel my booking.
I have never been treated like this as it is unacceptable. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere and I think everyone needs to consider it if they keep on treating customers like this.
Diamond Bay golf course will never see me or my friends as i will tell them exactly how they treat golf players.
I phoned a nearby golf club and they have a tee-off time for me...
Read moreGreens are currently being under aeration holes 1-9 but still decent enough for casual golf. It's not like you are going for a trophy or personal best score. The pin locations were just too ridiculous for weekend golfers. I see why golfers lose 6 to 10 balls playing here. The course is too difficult. The general layout is great here, along with friendly caddies and staff. One area this golf course really needs to improve is the fairways. Fairway is too soggy that my driver and 3 wood tee shots got zero meter yard roll (I actually see my ball marks on fairways) 🤣 I was fed up with so much mud on the ball after tee shots that I decided to just clean and place the ball for approach shots. It's not worth paying more than 2 million VND for this type of fairway. I asked my caddie whether it had heavy rain a day before, but she said none. I think this course has a bad irrigation system and should be played only during dry season. I recommend just playing on white or lady tee since the wind and soggy fairways make golf so much more difficult. I highly highly recommend you to try their driving range. 😲 truly breathtaking view...
Read moreI played Diamond Bay after playing at ANARA the day before. Had a great experience at ANARA. Driving up I knew it was not the same standard but was hoping that it would have its own charm. I have to say the golf course was disappointing. The first hole tee box was being repaired while I played. The fairways are very narrow and there's water everywhere. I lost two sleeves of golf balls! So it's not for the faint of heart. I would say recreational golfers will find it too tough and not enjoy playing there. The course was fully booked due to it being high season but the marshalls need to do better in terms of pace of play. On the back nine we were stuck behind a group that had 5 people. Every hole we had to wait. Course was not in the best of condition. A lot of times when you hit the fairway you would see sand flying up in the air. On the positive side, the caddies we had were very nice and helpful. They were a married couple and super nice. Overall, if given the option to golf here again, I...
