It's always a bit hit and miss when visiting National Parks Camps. Luckily this occasion was a big hit! We stayed for 2 nights. The chalet we got was very well appointed, it had everything we needed. There was lovely white linen, nice beds, a ceiling fan and mosquito nets. The kitchen had enough cutlery and plates for all of us. We had more than enough hot water. The lady who cleans the chalet was kind enough to get our fire started so it was all ready for cooking when we got back from our game drive. The park was also showing off on this occasion, we saw a large herd of sable, giraffe, zebras, warthog, a lion, yellow billed kites by their 100s looking for termites on the ground.    Read moreHwange main camp is a beautiful and a budget friendly place from which to explore the Great Hwange National Park and I'm informed the National Park is half the size of Belgium. There are 2 bedroom chalets that are good enough for a family. Just keep in mind that you are away from home so don't expect abnormal comfort - no TV and the wifi reception is poor. The fauna and flora does cover up for that. Herds of impala get into the main camp area and so do hyenas. It's a true wild experience. The Zimbabwe National Parks Authority needs to update the bathrooms in the chalets though. The shower rooms are dated with no tiling and that's a huge drawback.
