This is a natural waterfall across the Yellow River in the Shaanxi Province. The Yellow River narrows to 30 metres at this location bounded by the two banks forming a stunning waterfall. The momentum at the waterfall resembles water gushing out of a huge pot, giving rise to the name in Chinese. This second largest waterfall in China is a gorgeous sight and definitely worth a visit

My family and i stayed at the hotel next to the attraction. While it's said to be the top grade hotel in this area, it's abit old. We had to change the room as our original room smell of cigarette. Houko is definitely worth the visit. We are here in December, and it's super cold here.

中國5A級的國家風景區，在山西、陝西兩省的交界，壺口瀑布是全中國第二大瀑布，黃河流經此處寬度縮減，河面寬度由300公尺縮小成50公尺，滾滾泥沙伴隨河水奔流於此，兩邊又是陡峭石壁，形成極為澎湃壯觀的瀑布景點。詩仙李白在「將進酒」一詩寫道⋯ 黃河之水天上來，奔流到海不復回就是形容壺口瀑布這個世界最大黃瀑布奇觀，有生之年很值得到此一看！

This waterfall is impressive! Beautiful to be exact. Was there 2 weeks ago and it was hot, wet, sandy all at once! If you don't mind being a little muddy here and there go and have all the fun! But if you do, you'd probably need a poncho of sorts. There were little donkeys or horses for you to out on a traditional outfit and take pics with too. Transportation there was easy as we got to go with Xiao Li travel agency. 2.5hrs from linfen by coach. Was pleasant. A must see! I would advise that transportation and travel arrangements be made prior to this outdoor excursion especially for non chinese speaking visitors though.. and also for those of us who would think it would be easy and ok to do so when we are already here. Loads of fruits and food places nearby too! We had lunch at a restaurant by the big white hotel and coach parking and it was good too! The fish is a must eat!

There are two places where you can view the waterfall, one is on Shanxi side and the other one is on Shaanxi side. two different provinces. The Shaanxi side is all on ground level while the Shanxi side offers an opportunity to view it on a ledge of a cliff which is lower.
