"BBY Friends No Longer Need to Go to Richmond for Sweet & Sour Pork!"

🥩 Sweet & Sour Pork! Crispy Fried Pork! Braised Eggplant & Potatoes! 🍽️ True foodie dedication means driving 30 minutes to Burnaby just to takeout Northeastern Chinese food back to Richmond! Finally tried this spot after so many friends recommended it—I kept putting it off because it seemed too far without a car, but I’m glad I made the trip! 🌶️ The restaurant isn’t huge, but the auntie at the counter was super friendly. Worried the Sweet & Sour Pork (Guo Bao Rou) wouldn’t stay crispy on the way home, I tried a piece right away—SO GOOD! That tangy sauce hit hard (the vinegar really kicked at first bite!), and the coating was perfectly crunchy. The portion was generous too! 🧄 The Crispy Fried Pork (Liu Rou Duan) was delicious, though a bit different from what I’ve had before. Huge portion with thick, juicy chunks of meat. 🥔 The Braised Eggplant & Potatoes (Di San Xian) was solid, though sometimes the eggplant skin was a bit tough. The Spicy & Sour Potato Strips were just okay—not very tangy or spicy, but at least the potatoes were nicely crisp. 🧅 There are so many more homestyle dishes I didn’t get to try, and the menu actually has non-Northeastern options too. Burnaby folks craving Northeastern food—no more trekking to Richmond! Overall, a great experience. 📍 Jia Wei Restaurant 4854 Imperial St, Burnaby #FoodieUniverse #SweetAndSourPork #NortheasternCuisine #StirFriedGoodness #Vancouver #Burnaby #Richmond #VancouverLife #Canada #DiSanXian
