"STL Village Diary" – Eating My Way Through Delmar Loop 🍜
Met up with friends to check out this "Little Noodle Story" spot (okay, it’s not actually new… we just never got around to it before 😂). Their xiaolongbao tastes more like soup dumplings—bite into one and it’s bursting with juice 💦! The crispy pork strips were just "meh" 🍖, but the minced pork noodles I ordered? So good!!! And the $1 mung bean soup was a total surprise—my favorite kind, too: just the sweet soup, no actual mung beans 🫘. It’s super sweet, like the syrupy kind (but I love that vibe). Then we headed to Chayiji, which is… a few doors down (yep, that’s new too)! As soon as we walked in, there’s this strong, fragrant tea smell 🍵. The drink menu isn’t huge—kinda feels like Cube Tea’s vibe… I got the "Female General" (tastes similar to Boya Juexian), but they were out of the snow cap topping. Without the snow cap, it tasted way more plain 😕. My friend got the mango sago, though—and that was great! The fruit chunks are big and super fresh. After boba, we went to another spot a few doors down… Tous les Jours! Their pastries are 10/10—both delicious AND cute 🥐. But they’re $1-$2 more expensive than the Tous les Jours in Houston… though honestly? Having one in the "village" is already a win, so I’m not complaining. I just love Delmar Loop so much —so many good eats all in one street! It’s the best, seriously. #StudyAbroadPLOG #StLouis #DailyLife
