Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round, for I am about to tell you the tale of the Delmar Loop - a strip that's got more bite than a Blueberry burger and more ABV than a roomful of drunkard clowns. A thing the locals refer to as a Monday.
I've known this place since I was knee-high to a Vess soda can and let me tell you, it's been a 20 MPH thrill ride!
In my youth, the Loop was the kind of place where you could get a black eye just by looking at someone the wrong way. But, as time went on and the neighborhood grew up -like a culture in a WashU lab, the rough edges were smoothed out and it became a place where you're more likely to get a black eye from a wayward avocado tossed by a scraggly hipster at United Provisions.
But just because the Loop's gone upscale, doesn't mean the party's over. Oh no, my friends. This place is still a nonstop bacchanal of food, music, and good times. You want a full belly? The Loop's got it all, from gastro burgers at Blueberry Hill, to some of the best modern Indian in town at Turmeric, and let's not forget Three Kings, Mission Taco, and Blue Ocean, they are all a must-visit with great selections and even better atmosphere.
When it comes to entertainment, you can soothe your eternal Bowl at Pinup, or catch big-name artists at venues like The Pageant, Blueberry Hill or Delmar Hall. And let's not forget the St. Louis Walk of Fame, which is home to many notable figures in the city's history, like Chuck Berry, Miles Davis, Tennessee Williams, and Maya Angelou!
So, get your affairs in order, grab your bowling shoes, and head on down to the Delmar Loop. It may have changed over the years, but it's still the same wild and crazy neighborhood that'll make you laugh, cry, and maybe even fall in love. Just don't blame me if you wake up with a relative stranger and a new tattoo that says "I ❤️...
Read moreSo, how do you review a loop? Well, there’s no set criteria for judging them. But let me tell you, the loop is a fantastic revitalization effort that brings food, dining, entertainment, and a renewed sense of life and purpose to the area. I was just looking for a hotel that was different from the usual, and I stumbled upon the Moonrise Hotel. What I didn’t know was that the Moonrise Hotel is the heart of an entire district buzzing with culture. There’s this amazing sense of unity between the businesses that make up the loop. I’ve seen many revitalization projects in different cities, but this one is truly unique and well-planned. You can feel the support and belief in this place. If you’re a St. Louis resident and haven’t visited the loop area yet, you’re missing out on a truly special experience. And if you’re visiting St. Louis and looking for a place to immerse yourself in the city’s culture, the loop is the place to be. Read moreIt's happening here! At the Delmar Loop, you'll find tons of shopping establishments to choose from as you begin your weekend journey. From retro to modern, there are many different options in this unique, blink of an eye strip. I like to call it the Mini Magnificent Mile, as it reminds me of the original shopping strip located in Chicago. Avalon Exchange is one of my favorite resale shops to find unique clothing and accessories. Getting a little hungry from all of the exploring you've done? Not to worry! The Loop has many different styles of restaurants to choose from as well. Stop by Blueberry Hill for a quick drink/bite to eat. Love the atmosphere so much that you don't want to leave? There is an expanding market of residential properties located on or around The Loop so you can remain one with this beautiful, yet small part of St. Louis City.
Tip: Looking for parking? There is a public lot behind the Starbucks towards the West end of The Loop, off of...
