I’d always heard how good Zhao San Niang Chengdu Mao Cai was up north, but it was just so far away… 😩 Finally, they’ve opened a location right here in our big Mississauga! On a cold, snowy day ❄️, there’s nothing more satisfying than a steaming hot bowl of Mao Cai—so comforting! 🍲💖 They have a wide variety of ingredients 🥬🥩, but they’re divided into standard (middle two shelves) and premium (bottom shelf), so be careful when filling your bowl! My favorites—beef tripe, pork aorta, thick-cut beef slices—are all here, and the quality is great! 👌 I was even surprised to see duck intestines, which looked super fresh! 🦆✨ We got a little too excited and loaded up a huge bowl. When it was cooked, the staff said it was too much for one pot, so they split it into two for us. 😆 We ordered the dry-tossed sesame sauce base (mild spice), and the heat level was just right. 🌶️ The sesame sauce was rich and generous, making it super flavorful and perfect with rice. 🍚 How good was it?
