[Granada 🇪🇸] What to eat? Recommended Arabic dishes
Granada, a city in southern Spain, sits close to North Africa. Historically ruled by Moroccan Muslim dynasties, it’s brimming with rich Moroccan and Muslim influences—and that means you can dive into authentic Moroccan and Muslim-style dining here. I tried two spots after doing my homework—here’s the lowdown: 👉🏻 Restaurante Teteria Al Andalus A cozy Moroccan-style spot serving Moroccan and Middle Eastern dishes. The menu’s packed with options: grilled meats, tagines, and traditional teas. The decor? Total Moroccan vibes—colorful textiles, intricate patterns, super exotic 🏮 Recommendation: Tagine 🍲 It’s like a Moroccan version of our clay pot braised meat! You can pick beef, lamb, or chicken, and there are two styles: sweet (with prunes and apricots) or savory (with veggies). We ordered two: apricot-braised beef and veggie-braised lamb. Personally, the apricot one won me over—sweet, tender, and so flavorful. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender! 😋 We also tried the kebab platter—juicy, meaty, with both chicken and lamb. Oh, and they bring free Moroccan desserts after the meal—such a nice touch! 🍰 👉🏻 Restaurante Sirio Castillo de Aleppo A Middle Eastern spot with great Google reviews. It was a backup—my first pick was closed—but hey, it’s cheap, at least 😅 We ordered three empanada-like pastries, each a different shape and flavor: lamb, cheese, and pickled veg. Those were actually pretty good! But the grilled lamb skewer with rice? A letdown. The “lamb” was more like minced meat, not real chunks—texture was just okay 😕 #MoroccanFood #Spain #SpainTravel #Granada #GranadaFood #SpanishCuisine
