[Late-Night Eats in North America] Whose Thai Ramen Is This? 🍜🍜

This weekend, Maine was hit by a snowstorm ❄️—but the roads were still full of warmth! So many parents were taking their kids sledding down small hills, or even pulling their little ones along in sleds. It was such a sweet, heartwarming sight 🥰. And guess what? I found another amazing eatery in Maine! 📍 Mi Sen Noodle Bar630 Congress St, Portland, ME 04101 Portland was freezing this weekend, so I just popped into a random spot… and it turned out to be so good! Nothing beats a hot meal on a cold day 🥘. We ordered Tom Yum Soup and Pad Thai—both classic, comforting picks. We also tried a - like side dish that had peanuts in it; it was a bit sweet and super hot (temperature-wise!), so be careful when you take a bite 😋. The real surprise, though, was the curry noodles! They even had crispy noodles mixed in, and the curry wasn’t too heavy or greasy—just rich and flavorful. Total chef’s kiss 👩🍳! The restaurant’s vibe was nice too—cozy and casual, perfect for a snowy weekend meal. Market Basket We picked up lobsters here for $11.99 per pound… then when we got back to New York, we saw they were only $9.99 per pound at Dahua Supermarket 😂. I’ve been to Market Basket in Boston too—head to the seafood section, and you can pick out live lobsters yourself. They’ll even cook them for you on the spot! I think they’re best eaten plain, no sauce needed—you can really taste the fresh, sweet lobster flavor that way 🦞. Market Basket is super common in Massachusetts and Maine. Their drink section is great too, and they have a lot of store-brand products—their house-made cola and ginger ale are actually pretty good! P.S. I’ve been procrastinating every day… still haven’t written my 3-day Maine travel guide yet 😅. #TomYumSoup #NorthAmericanLife #USATravel #Maine #MaineLobster #PortlandMaine #NewYorkOfficeWorker #StudyInUSA #InternationalStudentRecipes #CookingForStudents
