Álomlángos Szentendre
The most delicious lángos in Hungary is in the town of Szentendre! 😋🍴 Álomlángos Szentendre Open annually from March 15th to November 15th (11:00-18:00) Szentendre, Váralja lépcső, 2000 Lángos is a traditional Hungarian fried flatbread, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's usually slathered with garlic sauce, sour cream, and shredded cheese, making it a classic street snack 🇭🇺 Palacsinta is Hungarian thin pancake, similar to French crêpes but thinner and softer. Traditional Hungarian ways to eat it include drizzling with honey, jam, chocolate sauce, or filling with walnut paste (Diós palacsinta) and dusting with powdered sugar 🇭🇺 ————————— Today, I visited the charming 🌷 town of Szentendre! I was lucky enough to have the best lángos I've ever tasted in nearly 10 years in Hungary here. I just have to rave about it!! (I'd only had lángos a few times at markets before, and I never really got why it's so popular – my bad, my bad 😭) This hidden gem tucked away in a narrow alley was highly recommended by my Hungarian classmate. He said it's been open for decades, and even his dad used to come here as a kid. Slather on a layer of sour cream, sprinkle with plenty of shredded cheese, and finally coat with lots of garlic sauce, hahahaha. What makes this lángos delicious is its light texture, bright golden color, and extremely fluffy interior. It's made and fried fresh, with the dough ready on the counter at all times. Omg, it's the first time I finished a whole lángos by myself! Picture 14: The jam palacsinta is also so delicious!! Sweet and sour, like homemade plum jam. Actually, my friend didn't recommend the palacsinta here because he'd never tried it and even tried to get me to choose another flavor. But I really wanted to try it and didn't want to switch, soooo the taste was a pleasant surprise. Fragrant and soft pancakes with jam, perfect with the lángos. My friend took a bite and said it was unexpectedly good too 😋 #Szentendre
