🇨🇦 Fine Dining Done Right - Auberge du Pommier 🍷✨

With my birthday around the corner, my partner and I decided to indulge in a romantic French dinner for some quality time—just the two of us. Before the meal: 👨‍🍳 Him: "I don’t really like French food." After the meal: 👨‍🍳 Him: "I’m OBSESSED." 😏 Me: "Told ya. Welcome to the good life." This place is a must-visit—elegant, intimate, and perfectly cozy. We were seated by the fireplace, listening to the crackling logs while snow fell outside. Pure magic. The Feast (Yes, We Went All Out) 🐷🍽️ We ordered six appetizers, two mains, one dessert—plus a complimentary birthday appetizer and two extra desserts (because celebrations call for excess, right?). 🍞 Appetizer Highlights: 1️⃣ Butter Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Warm, fluffy, and served with the creamiest butter. So good, we ordered a second round. No regrets. 2️⃣ Foie Gras Puff Pastry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Silky foie gras + earthy greens + crispy pastry. Bite-sized perfection. 3️⃣ Seared Scallops ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plump, buttery, draped in a dreamy white sauce with mushrooms. Elegant AF. 4️⃣ Beef Tartare ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ Fresh, but oversalted. The bread? Too dry. Skip unless you love salt. 5️⃣ Puff Pastry Soup ⭐️⭐️ Thick, hard pastry + salty broth. Not worth it. 🥩 Mains: A5 Wagyu Steak ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cooked to perfection. Buttery, rich, unforgettable. My steak-loving heart was so happy. Duck Confit ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good, but not great. A bit underwhelming compared to the rest. (Partner loved it though!) 🍰 Dessert: Pistachio Cream Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tangy berry chocolate + nutty cream + crispy base. Not too sweet, just perfect. 🍹 Drinks: Mocktails and coffee were solid. No complaints! Final Verdict: Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Fireplace + garden patio = dreamy.) Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Coats handled, dishes explained—very polished!) Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Mostly stellar, a few misses.) Price: $$$ (~$240/person after tax & tip… but we may have overordered. 😅) Perfect for: Date nights, anniversaries, or treating yourself like royalty. 🔥 Hot Take: What’s your french food weakness? Foie gras? Steak? Crème brûlée? Let me know below! 👇 #FrenchCuisine #TorontoFineDining #DateNightGoals #TorontoEats #FoodieHeaven #TreatYourself #SpecialOccasionEats
