🇬🇧 Edinburgh | Wandering into a Sheep's Paradise 🐏🌿
A delightful hike through Pentland Hills Regional Park—we accidentally discovered this stunning alternate route when our original 2-hour plan went sideways! 🟢 Our Route (Green Line): A scenic 12km loop (~20,000 steps) with gentle terrain perfect for beginners. We took our time, stopping often to enjoy the views—an ideal half-day adventure! 📍 Getting There: 🚌 Take Bus 101 to The Flotterstone Inn (no need to start from Princes Street—any nearby stop works! Check Google Maps for hourly schedules). 🟦 Blue Route (Start): Begins at a cozy café, following a smooth lakeside road (vehicle-friendly). Expansive water views make it incredibly peaceful. 🚾 Pitstop: Near Loganlea, find a small café + spotless portable toilet for a quick refresh! 🟪 Purple Route (Highlight!): The most beautiful section—winds through valleys alongside a babbling stream. Get up close with friendly sheep grazing the hillsides! 🐑💕 🟦 Final Blue Route: Returns via another easy lakeside road. 🚌 Catch Bus 44 back to Edinburgh city center from the parking lot exit. 💡 Tips: Beginner-friendly: Our group of couch potatoes survived—you’ve got this! 😆 Safety first: Few hikers on the later stretches—avoid going solo. Pack: Water, snacks, and layers (Scottish weather is unpredictable!). #Edinburgh #Hiking #DayTripsFromEdinburgh #PentlandHills
