Bancone: My Go-To Affordable Michelin-Starred Pasta Spot in London

Over the years in London, whenever I crave pasta, Bancone is always my first choice—delicious and wallet-friendly (just remember to book ahead!). Their menu changes frequently with seasonal rotations, though a few signature dishes remain constant. 🌟 Salsiccia sarda, caper berry Had no idea what this was from the menu description, but the staff explained it's sausage with Italian pickled berries. The sausage alone might be too rich, but the tangy berries cut through perfectly—a pleasant surprise! 🌟 Silk handkerchiefs, walnut butter, confit egg yolk Their famous egg yolk & walnut butter pasta—ultra-silky texture. Pro tip: Share this if you're ordering other dishes, as it can get a bit heavy on its own. 🌟 Spicy pork & nduja ragù, mafalde A regular order for me! Think classic tomato meat sauce but with a hint of spice (very mild). Rich and comforting. 🌟 Herdwick hogget, pappardelle, soy, Thai basil, chilli Thai basil with lamb—unique, but not my favorite (I’m not big on lamb). My partner liked it though! 🌟 Bottarga, seaweed butter, charcoal tagliolini, Amalfi lemon Beautiful plating, but tastes like a standard cream pasta. Stick to one cream-based dish per visit—they’re all rich! 💰 Price Range: £20-30 📍 Bancone Golden Square 8-10 Lower James St, London W1F 9EL #100FoodieAdventures #Food #LondonEats #PastaLover #DateNightSpot #HiddenGem #ItalianCuisine #AffordableLuxury
