Graz with Kids: Frida & Fred Children's Museum 🏰🎨
Last Sunday was Graz Museum Day (free admission!), so we headed to the magical Frida & Fred Children's Museum and caught their new exhibition—"Damals 1410" (Back to 1410)! ⏳ The theme was "Time Travel to the Middle Ages", and my kid was immediately hooked by the "Knight's Camp"—putting on cloaks, pretending to cook, building tents, forging tools, and even learning to write on parchment 📜✨. The best part? Unexpected "emergencies" like fires that needed quick thinking from our little heroes 🔥👦. Completing missions earned gold coins to upgrade armor—basically an augmented-reality RPG in real life! The exhibition was super immersive—even us adults couldn’t resist playing along (I secretly learned how to seal wax letters 🕯️💌). The staff were amazingly friendly, guiding kids through fun mini-games that felt like education but totally felt like playtime 🎮. 📝 Tips: ✔️ Great for ~8-year-olds (but my older kid had a blast too!) ✔️ Long exhibition hours—perfect for slow exploration ✔️ Book tickets in advance (it gets busy!) ✔️ Located right next to Augarten Park—perfect for a picnic if the weather’s nice ☀️🧺 ✔️ Basement level has a soap bubble wonderland 🫧—make your own bubbles and play with cool interactive installations We’re definitely coming back—only downside? Kids pay full price too 😅 But still, it’s one of Graz’s top family-friendly spots! #GrazLife #ParentingInGraz #KidsMuseum #FamilyFun #ThingsToDoWithKids #GrazWithKids #MuseumAdventure #InteractiveExhibition #SoapBubbles #MedievalTimes
