The National WWII Museum in New Orleans | NOLA 🎖️🏛️
Wow, just wow – this museum is absolutely mind-blowing! ✨😲 The National WWII Museum is open from 9AM–5PM, but it gets crazy crowded, so I highly recommend buying tickets in advance. 🎟️⏳ Even if you can't snag the earliest slot, they usually let you in early anyway! There are 5 massive exhibits that tell WWII history from the American perspective. And get this – some of the planes have been restored to fully operational condition! ✈️🔥 Honestly, you'll want to set aside a full day for this place. ⏳📅 Right after ticket check, head to the first floor and queue up for the train ride – it gives you a chillingly realistic experience of what soldiers felt being shipped off to war. 🚂💂 While waiting, they'll take your photo (souvenir alert!), and you can check out the photo packages upstairs. 📸💸 Fair warning though – they're kinda pricey! On the second floor, grab a Dog Tag at the staircase – each one represents a real WWII figure (soldiers, nurses, officers). 🏷️👩⚕️👨✈️ As you explore, scan it at designated spots to uncover their entire wartime journey (the first scan even tells you where to find the next one!). Don't miss the IMAX 4D experience (no photos allowed!) in Exhibit 3. 🎥💥 With shaking seats, deafening sounds, overhead flames, and even mist effects, you'll feel like you're right in the battlefield – bullets whizzing, explosions booming! 💣🔥 All 5 exhibits could easily take a day to fully absorb: European & Pacific Theaters 🌍⚔️ Road to Berlin / Road to Tokyo 🗺️🏙️ Soldiers' daily lives (food, gear, propaganda posters) 🥫👕📢 Horrors of war (Nanking Massacre, Holocaust, Unit 731) 😢☠️ Outside, countless red bricks are engraved with names of the fallen. 🧱🕊️ May the world know peace. 🙏🌎 #LiveInTheMoment #WWIIMuseum #NewOrleans #NorthAmericaTravel #MuseumMustSee
