Toronto Summerlicious 💰$65 Dinner - Safe Choice Alert!!

📍 Le Sélect Bistro This Summerlicious I chose my long-time favorite French bistro Le Sélect Bistro and got to enjoy a exquisite 3-course dinner for just $65. The menu options were limited, so our group of three basically tried almost everything on the menu~ Ambiance First: Vintage red leather sofas, French paintings, wooden furniture - the atmosphere instantly transports you to a Parisian bistro. The servers were very professional, patiently recommending dishes and drinks, creating an amazing vibe. 🍹 Drinks (ordered separately): We got the alcohol-free French Lemonade and the special l'entente cordiale. The French Lemonade was sweet and tangy, perfect for cutting through richness, while the l'entente cordiale had gin and Earl Grey tea - light and refreshing, ideal for pairing with French cuisine. 🍽️ Appetizers: Beef Tartare: Came with pickles, chives, and mayonnaise - great texture contrast. Garden Salad: Super tender butter lettuce with fresh herbs, onions, and vinaigrette - refreshing without being boring. Escargot in Puff Pastry: The pastry was insanely crispy!! Filled with creamy mushroom and escargot sauce (no whole snails - good for escargot-shy people 🐌) 🍽️ Main Courses: 🐟 Pan-Seared Trout with Almond Cream Sauce: My #1 pick!! Crispy skin, rich butter blanc sauce, almond slivers for texture, and grilled lemon garnish - classic French that never gets old. 🥩 Steak Frites: Medium-rare was perfect, juicy with strong beef flavor, served with herb butter and crispy fries - pure happiness (this was my #2 favorite!). 🌱 Asparagus Pesto Risotto (vegetarian): Super vibrant green color - tasted like spring. Creamy cheese with fresh asparagus. Great vegetarian option. Small downside: Main courses were slightly smaller portions compared to their regular menu~ But no misses on flavor at all. 🍰 Desserts: Chocolate Mousse: Interesting mix of bitter and sweet, very smooth texture, but maybe too sweet for Asian palates. Lemon Tart: Refreshing and cute portion size, perfect sweet-sour balance. Choux Pastry with Ice Cream: The "pineapple" choux shell was fragrant, filled with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream - hands down the best dessert here. Overall: Le Sélect Bistro delivered a solid performance during Summerlicious. Maintained French cuisine's elegance and romance, with flavors above average. Portions were small but $65 for this variety? Great value. Best to go with 3-4 people to share and sample more dishes. 📍 Address: 432 Wellington St W, Toronto 💰 Summerlicious Set: $65/person (dinner) 🕰️ Highly recommend making reservations in advance! #Toronto #TorontoLife #TorontoWeekend
