🚶♂️ Tokyo Walk Spots for the Discerning Traveler 🚶♀️
Here's a detailed guide to some of Tokyo's lesser-known walk spots that are rich in character and perfect for capturing those unique travel moments: No Need for Advance Booking: You can visit these spots on a whim without the need for online reservations. However, be aware that they offer tours in both Japanese and English. The Japanese tours run hourly, while the English tours are scheduled less frequently, with at most one session a day, typically in the afternoon. It's best to check the official website for the exact schedule. I find the Japanese tours to be more convenient. Arrival and Registration: Upon arrival, there will be a police officer at the entrance who will understand when you mention "trip." They will guide you through registration and inform you of some important details, mainly about the timing and the one-hour tour duration, reminding you to leave ample time for your visit. After registering early, you'll be directed to a waiting room about 150 meters to the right where you can rest until 15 minutes before your tour. The waiting room also has informational materials to read. Pre-Tour Preparation: 15 minutes before the tour, you'll return to the registration area where you'll be given an introduction booklet (available in Chinese, just mention it when you register). Once inside, you can wait in the basement for photography (they inform you it's allowed, so feel free to take pictures). The collection isn't vast but diverse and interesting. There's even a corner for stamping, including a stamp with the date, a lovely detail. The Tour Begins: A guide will line you up and explain some introductions ,which you might not understand, but that's part of the fun. You'll then proceed upstairs to the main chamber. While the Japanese visitors are taking their photos, you can start yours as well. This part of the tour is more detailed and allows for some Q&A time (just pretend you understand, haha). #Japan #Tokyo #Travel #CulturalLandmarks #WeekendGetaways #NationalDietBuilding #TravelTips #OffTheBeatenPath
