❄️ Alaska | Fairbanks Day 4 📒

❄️ Alaska | Fairbanks Day 4 📒 Chena Hot Springs! ♨️ Hot Springs Day!!!! 📍 Chena Hot Springs ♨️🧊❄️ • Coming to Fairbanks, I was most looking forward to soaking in the hot springs!!! 🧖🏻‍♀️ I thought frost forming in my hair would look so pretty, but it was snowing ❄️ the day we went, and the temperature was a bit too high — no frost at all 😭. I regret not choosing a colder day. • We arrived at the hot springs resort a little after 10:00 AM, just as it was getting light. There weren’t many people then — only a few in the changing rooms, probably because it was still early. The facilities in the changing area were old but looked fairly clean. In the hot springs pool, there were only about 5–6 other people soaking 🧖🏼‍♀️. We brought all our own stuff — personally, I feel much cleaner and more comfortable that way 😊. ❗️ Tips: Bring your own slippers 🩴 Bring your own towel (a disposable one is great — you can use it to dry your feet 🦶🏻 when changing into boots after the bath) Bring your own hairdryer 🌬️ (they have dryers but they’re weak; if you have long hair, it’ll take forever) One locker requires 2 quarters 🪙 (bring your own, or use the change machine there) Bring a waterproof phone pouch!!! 📱 Really necessary for photos!! Bring your own toiletries 🛁 • The further you go into the hot springs pool, the hotter the water gets ♨️. Since we went so early and were among the first group, we didn’t feel it was dirty like some reviews mentioned. That day, maybe because it wasn’t extremely cold, the hallway connecting the changing room to the springs was bearable — it’s not open-air, there’s a roof overhead. Once you’re in the water, it’s very warm. The water felt quite shallow to me — you’ll need to stand in a wide stance (like doing a split) to look good in photos 😅. ❗️ There’s a small step under the floating ball marker in the water — hold onto the railing when walking in!!! I slipped on the step right when entering and scraped my knee on the rocks 😖. 📍 Aurora Ice Museum 🧊 It’s located at the same place as the hot springs, but they only offer guided tours — and it’s mandatory, so we didn’t book in advance. After soaking, we felt a bit bored and wondered if we could join a tour on the spot, but we missed the timing and could only take a photo outside 🥲. 📍 The Crepery 🍳🥓 We checked out this crepe place 🥣. We ordered three savory crepes and one sweet — they were hot, crispy, and edible, but nothing that made us want to go back for more. 📍 Airbnb!!! 🏠 • Strongly recommend staying in an Airbnb in Alaska!!! So comfortable!! So much freedom!! Coming back to the Airbnb every day felt super warm and cozy, especially during Christmas — staying there really gave us a holiday feel. • We even had hotpot at the Airbnb and baked sweet potatoes 🍠 in the oven. We didn’t like the tap water in Alaska, so we bought bottled water and heated it in the microwave every morning to take with us. #AlaskaTrip#Fairbanks#FairbanksHotSprings#ChenaHotSprings
