🏛️ Bishop Museum - The Perfect Gateway to Hawaiian Culture
Last Thursday, we took our kids to explore the Bishop Museum —a castle-like main building with three floors showcasing Hawaii’s rich heritage. 🌺📚 From daily life to farming and fishing traditions, it’s a vivid journey through Hawaiian and Pacific Islander history. Highlights: 🌙 2nd Floor: Displays how locals align activities with moon phases (even spotted my name there—fun coincidence!). 🎵 Hands-on traditional instruments (with video tutorials!) kept the kids engaged. 🐋 Main Hall: A massive whale specimen (or model?) "flying" overhead—breathtaking! 🔬 Kid-Friendly: Microscopes, slide projectors, and volcano crawls made learning super fun . Loved watching school groups absorb culture effortlessly! Other Gems: 🔭 Planetarium (shows Mon/Wed) 🌈 Light Exhibit (interactive refraction/diffraction demos—science magic!). Science Adventure Center: Kids climbed "volcanoes," dove into "bioluminescent seas," and dressed as forest bugs—small but mighty fun ! (We missed one exhibit—plan for 2+ hours !). 💰 Tickets: • $28.95 (adult) | Groupon: $16 (weekdays only!) • Free for under 4 | Kama'aina discounts. Verdict: A must-visit for Hawaiian history + family fun! #HawaiiCulture #MuseumDay #FamilyFun
