⛰️ Day Trip from Vancouver: Exploring Hope
Summer in Vancouver is so precious… ☀️ This year, it feels like summer arrived late and might leave early — temperatures barely touched 30°C. Still, making the most of every sunny moment! We hit the road to Hope — a charming town about 2 hours from Vancouver 🚗 (Fun fact: It’s the filming location for First Blood, the first Rambo movie! 🎬) 📍 First Stop: District 1881 🛍️ Address: 46128 Yale Rd, Chilliwack A cute retro-style alley in downtown Chilliwack — feels like stepping into a small European town! 🏰 Though compact, it’s packed with cafes, shops, and photo spots 📸 In winter, it transforms into a Christmas village 🎄✨ ☕ Recommendation: Try the latte at Smoking Gun Coffee Roasters! 🚊 The Othello Tunnels 📍 Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park, Hope These historic tunnels were part of the old Kettle Valley Railway and appeared in First Blood. 🎥 Built in the early 1900s, crossing multiple mountains — a true engineering marvel! ⚠️ Note: Flood damage closed them until late May — only part of the trail is open now. 📡 No phone signal on parts of the trail — download maps offline! ⏰ Open May to October (closed in winter ❄️) 🚠 Hell’s Gate Airtram 📍 43111 Trans-Canada Hwy, Boston Bar Famous for its cable car over the dramatic Fraser River Canyon 🌄 Also features a museum, suspension bridge lookout, and gold panning experience! ⏰ Open 10 AM - 5 PM (April to October) 📍 45 mins from Hope — start early if you plan to visit! On your way back, stroll through downtown Hope — a quaint town with beautiful wood carvings and root sculptures. Perfect for a relaxed photo walk 🪵📸 #TravelBC #HopeBC #DayTrip #VancouverLife #HiddenGems #FamilyTravel #ExploreCanada #OffTheBeatenPath
