❄️ Fairbanks, Alaska – 5-Day Winter Adventure Itinerary ✨
Day 1: Arrival & Aurora Chasing Picked up our rental car — instant icy breath welcome! ❄️ Stayed at SpringHill Suites — great location with walkable dining options. If you’re not confident driving in snow, book tours with hotel pickup. First night: Cozy cabin aurora viewing — check my Northern Lights post for details! 🌌 Day 2: Chena Hot Springs Relaxation oaked in the famous Chena Hot Springs — gorgeous and steamy! ♨️ Pro tip: Bring your own towel (rental ones are not the cleanest).Visited Coyote Trails Fiber Mill — super cute local yarn shop! 🧶Day 3: Husky Sledding + Snowmobiling + Aurora Booked a combo tour: 🐕 30-min dog sledding — dogs were adorable! Face covering is a must against wind. 🏍️ 1-hour snowmobile — fun for photos, but VERY cold toward the end. Another magical night of aurora hunting — bundled up and mesmerized! Day 4: Thanksgiving Chill & Ice Fishing Most places closed for the holiday — found one spot for lunch Evening ice fishing: only caught one fish 🎣, but the guide grilled it fresh — delicious but tiny! Finished the night with instant noodles back at the hotel 🍜 Day 5: Early DepartureReturned the rental car and headed to the airport — tired but full of amazing memories! ✅ Travel Tips: Best aurora chances: Stay at least 3 clear nights Daylight hours: 10 AM sunrise – 3 PM sunset ⏳ Book activities early — daylight is short! Pack: face cover, thermal layers, hand warmers, and your own towel for hot springs #Fairbanks #AlaskaWinter #AuroraBorealis #DogSledding #ChenaHotSprings #IceFishing #Snowmobiling #TravelAlaska #WinterItinerary
