We had the incredible opportunity to be among the first diners at Island – the exciting new collaboration between two Michelin-starred chefs, and what an unforgettable culinary journey it was! 📍 Island is located in the stunning Chandelier Room on the first floor of Mare Street Market, while its sister restaurant Judy sits opposite Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross. This dual presence brings together the best of both culinary worlds! 👨‍🍳 The Masterminds Behind the Magic: Brad Carter (of Birmingham’s acclaimed Carters of Moseley) brings his nose-to-tail philosophy and meat lover's passion Tom Brown (Cornwall's seafood virtuoso) contributes his love for ocean treasures and fascination with Seattle's surf & turf culture 🍖🦞 Our Feast Was a Celebration of Fusion: Mixed grilled lamb chops & skewers Flavorful sausages Quail stuffed with seafood paella Perfectly seared scallops Sliced sirloin steak served with three exquisite sauces 🥔 The Side Dishes Stole Hearts Too!: Two types of crispy, delicious roast potatoes: One bowl marinated in rich beef onion sauce 🐄 Another infused with seafood flavors 🐟 A mini surf & turf experience on their own! 🥬 We Started With: A refreshing Tamworth pork coleslaw that set the tone perfectly 🍰 The Grand Finale: Perhaps the most impressive fusion creation – a blueberry cheesecake rice pudding combined with crème brûlée!
